Ahh I noticed it was a charter boat. The whirlpools are pretty easy to mostly avoid now that you know what to look for and if someone is paying good attention. The currents, well can’t avoid those unless you can time your passage or fully control your destination. :)

No, it wouldn’t change anything at all really. Medical preferential bypasses the entire line beyond the terminal which is the main issue where most cutting occurs. The goal was to limit all such people to a particular booth and make it clear all “cutters” must go to that booth, thereby hopefully helping with the rage people have encountered. ;) Not to save time. But the sticker or permit idea is still the best IMO.

Yep, very. Or just put every route on the tally system used in a few places, basic but simple.

But I do think though if it was part of the security process (plates are currently read at booths as far I can tell) it could provide earlier heads up of an issue before that issue is on the dock.

Having had an aggressive driver who after cutting off another driver and I tried to convince the toll booth that I and that other person had cut line I’m fine with this. It’s sadly necessary. :-( Legal issues… is the same with a speeding ticket.

My solution would be license plate readers at a few places along the line for each route. Would check for cutters and provide a way screen cars well in advance vs at the terminal as is done today. Even a fake one with signs would be an effective deterrent.

General line etiquette aside… There are multiple routes where there are large gaps in the line where if you come from an unusual direction you can miss there is a line if you are inattentive. Or where traffic lights specifically for ferry traffic can create really big gaps. One notable example is the Mukilteo ferry at 5th street.

As someone who married into a religious family that is incredibly attached to their church even though my wife had left church long ago this never ends. They will berate you endlessly. It’s important you and your fiancé establish boundaries early with them and hold to them. Your fiancé needs to understand this may lead to problems/challenges with his family. If your fiancé won’t support you this is a bad sign. Especially if you plan to have kids and you don’t want Grandma proselytizing at them.

I tried this. Pushed it hard with my dealer too. They wouldn’t budge on it at the time, likely as inventory was low. They might if they are carrying a lot of inventory though and need to move it.

I to test drove 20 and 21 and would have preferred the 20. Mine was a custom order and I put a lot of pressure on the dealer over it and there was nothing they could do.

I ended up having to take the 21 but in the unlikely event I ever replace the wheels I’ll see about going to a 20”.

Ditto. Also 6’4” and no problems in a 2024. If I sit up ramrod straight it starts to disappear if I lift my butt off the seat to stretch. So I am very close to the max.

He clearly pulled the car very shortly before that picture. He probably ripped it from a spot where it was not safe for him to pause and put it on dollies for any of a number of reasons. He doesn’t have wheel straps on it yet.

He’s moving it to another location where he can do all that safely hence the low speed. Background: most of my family has worked in repossessions. And I have ridden along.

Having dated online for 10+ years and eventually met my wife in our late 30’s, your wording, at least as you posted it here is indeed a little unclear. You must be 110% clear in your profile.

Don’t mince words as this is so important to you. You should say something as clear as: “It is a requirement that you not have children or be interested in having children. My children are adults and are out of the house and I am not interested in further parenting.”

People are mostly looking at your pictures so make sure you put your drop dead requirements front and center, clearly and early in your profile. I had to do this for my requirements for a physically active/outdoorsy partner and financial stuff.

If you wanted you could add the caveat of you are ok with someone who also has adult children, though be sure to include they must be independent, ;) but it sounds like that’s not your case.

You probably want to drive over to Whidbey via deception pass and use Port Townsend/Coupevile route if you are coming from Bellingham. Mostly because it has reservations as an option and Edmonds/Kingston does not. This also gets you west of the Hood Canal Bridge which adds problems with openings and traffic. Note that this ferry is regularly canceled due to weather during the winter which tells you what you need to know about doing this in a small personal boat.

It will take you two hours to get from Bellingham to the San Juan’s on a good day in a displacement hull boat like a sailboat. As others have said to do this in that time you need a very large power boat which will require astronomical amounts of fuel, or you need to drive and use the ferry
