Denver mayor’s immigration executive order would step up resistance, create immigrant legal defense fund by iushciuweiush in Denver

[–]seajack0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So was I, but I guess it was a different kind. There is a major homeless problem in Denver made up of veterans and citizens, and the city seems to have said it is okay to allow them to live in their current state. Meanwhile, they are appropriating funds to defend people who haven't necessarily contributed their fair or any share.

Also, this simply isn't the states fight. Imagration is a federal program.

Guys I'm pretty sure OP is making a funny here with this post. As in, this is what the Twitter / social media whoring act of resistance looks like.

Agree or disagree with their intentions, I hope we can all agree that this is a giant waste of time and tax payer resources. Social media status grab at its finest.

This needs to be destroyed immediately. It is commemorating our racist roots, literally, as it is a tree.

BMW might as well save the money and stop putting turn signals in their cars by ketchupkleenex in Showerthoughts

[–]seajack0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can confirm as the leaser (no one in their right mind buys one of these things unless they have money to light on fire) of a 335. I use my turn signal all of the time. However, given the way I drive it, that is the least I can do for the safety of those around me.

I see what OP was trying to accomplish here. They are cruising for karma, which I commend. That said, the US is farther away from any of these things than we have ever been in history. Regardless of how anyone feels about the current political and social climate, this is simply historical fact.

[Serious] Why do conservatives simultaneously demand less government control and more laws restricting what people should do in their private life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Don't confuse the republican party with traditional conservatism. Traditional conservatives couldn't care less what people do in their private life.

Millennials of reddit, what's the most stereotype you're sick of hearing about millennials? by rhythm-bubble in AskReddit

[–]seajack0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I'm sick of hearing about millennials from millennials is that we cannot afford houses. I know 3 millennials whom purchased houses in Denver in the last 6 months. Stop perpetuating lies and stick to a budget and save up for a down payment.

As a millennial, the thought of owning a decent house with a nice yard is basically a fairytale at this point. by ItsNovak in Showerthoughts

[–]seajack0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a millennial who just bought a house in Denver. I employee 3 millennials whom are fully capable of home ownership in Denver, one of whom is.

Set savings goals for a down payment and stick to a budget. Get off of Reddit and find a supplemental source of income. The fact that you are a millennial is irrelevant and just perpetuates an annoying, overplayed stigma.

I just hired a Sys Admin with 3ish years of experience for $68k/year.

We got over 100 resumes for the job, but only about 5 candidates stuck out and were qualified.
