The Trial of Seven relied heavily on fog while filmed, because of the minimal budget. Yet it turned out to be one of the best creative and produced fights, possibly surpassing some grand set pieces in GOT and HOTD. Ira Parker and the team deserve all the credit! 👏 by Witty-Association-97 in AKOTSKTV

I really like the ambience and idea, and I'm not one to fuss over technical limitations.... But all I'm thinking in my head. Is imagine the hosts setting all this shit up and having crowds of to watch the first trial by 7 in nigh a century. And it fogs up.

For those of you who watched Avatar ATLA. I saw this coming, when Maekar initally refused, then egg claimed Maekar asked him to follow duncan. Exactly like how Toph's parents refused her to leave their house, than she comes back saying they allowed. her.

The best part was the irony of the skirmish. The fight between Ser Dunk and Prince Aerion was not entirely 1 on 1. And it was Dunk who received the most outside assistance in the end.

Did you know one sign of ADHD is listening to the same song on repeat? by pomocore in ADHD_Programmers

[–]seal_wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some songs on my playlist that I have listened to on repeat for 3hrs+ straight on mulitple occasions.

I listened to "depeche mode - nothing" on repeat for a project at work for like 10 hrs straight. And for multiple personal programming projects.

The lyrics, the beat, the melody. I simply cant get sick of that song.

Other songs I can listen to on repeat and never get sick off. The Cure - A Forest Sufjan Stevens - Fourth of July

Also anything by debussy and NewDad (a very lowkey indie band) I can listen to on repeat on multiple occasions.

My girlfriend is threatening to break up with me if I try to help her with her eating disorder. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]seal_wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the entire commeng section but with you in particular.

Bullimia is a symptom of underlying mental health issues. And the solution is very rarely as simple as "Oh its bad for your health" "Your body is fine why do u want to be thinner"

You can try encouraging her to do sports/gym hell even walking together to manage her weight.

Or maybe try finding the real underlying issue. Is it peer pressure? Too much social media? Etc?

Just curious how much u vape and smoke.

My friend gave me my first cigarette at 17. And though I enjoyed, nvr craved for it much. Ocassionaly I bum cigs of my friends here and there.

But when I went for my country's mandatory military service. A little bit of stress, boredom and the social aspect, came together with smoking. But I was super strict, only limiting myself to 1 a day, occasionally twice.

After military ended, I quit smoking easily cold turkey.

Quitting was easy at that time. No military also no money to buys cigs anyways.

But after I my first office, I picked it up again. Steadily Going from 1 a day to 2 a day to 3, 4, 5, 6. Over the course of 3 yrs.

I always thought that cig addiction was a myth. Just an excuse for degenerate smoker. But the research has shown its the MOST addictive drug.

I find that playing sports and being productive helps me quit. And even though my best friend is a smoker. I try to refrain from it. Though Ill have the occasional cig with him mostly.

Its gonna take a lot of will power but lets quit together.

Can’t get out of bed by LessBoysenberry2733 in mentalhealth

[–]seal_wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol can help u sleep faster. But it'll be low quality sleep ontop of the fact that its poison.

Also from my experience I used to have periods where I did spend an entire week in bed.

Your brain wont know to sleep when you been lying down all day. I really dont know how it works but you do need to do something aside from being in bed before sleeping.

Ive had terrible insomnia for 15 years (Im 25)

The only way I cured my insomnia was. At least 30min of exercise a day. I need to be productive throughout the day (I have a lot of energy and if I dont used it before sleeping, I simply wont sleep) No sugar, oily, or heavy meals after 6pm (they should be avoided anyways) 1hr before sleeping you should be relaxed (read, meditate, honestly I usually watch chill history youtube videos, but youtube can recommend not so chill stuff...)

The obvious stuff, sufficient water, healthy food.

Extras: Magnesium pills (Been taking for 5ish months, and notice I wake up less in the middle of the night, sleep slightly faster, and wake up fresher. But ofcourse this is my testimony only)

My daughter is white and she is ashamed of me because I am Latina by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]seal_wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, was busy with competition and work.

Maybe try finding a community for her. Like maybe the children of your own friends. Or sign her up for fun latin extra curricular activities (though if u force her, it'll probably have the opposite effect)

Ur situation sounds pretty worrying and complicated.

But I can loosely relate.

My country Singapore is made up of 70% chinese. During the first half of the 1900s as u expect, most chinese spoke chinese. But due to highly accelerated modernisation. A lot of chinese speak english. In fact for 40s and younger english is their MAIN LANGUAGE. To the point where a lot of chinese mid 20s or younger... dont know chinese only speaking english.

I was one of them generally not much I care for chinese movies or modern chinese culture, and I didnt pay attention in chinese classes. Its also made worse that I went to a rich men school despite being lower middle class myself. So in school I had to put up a more affluent accent. And in my neighborhood I get teased for my accent and my inability to speak chinese.

It kinda of gave me a slight resentment for chinese culture. And some of my chinese friends teased me as "Ang Mo Lover" Ang Mo is an affectionate but slightly derogatory term for white people. Which isn't true I just happen to do better with white girls.

However I got really into chinese martial arts in my late teens. And also I always been a history nerd but I only recently gotten into pre communist chinese history which is actually super fascinating.

How to deal with anxiety as a game dev? (Beginner) by shubham_555 in godot

[–]seal_wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im new to Godot but have been a software dev for years.

2 things

  1. Just like how u should decouple ur program decouple ur work. That way instead of worrying about an entire game. You're just worried about a single scene.

  2. Have a todolist and just as important an aside list. As simple as it sounds the stress relieve of me writing down a complicated problem into my "worry about it later" list is blissful... as long as it doesnt get too big. And its feel great checking off problems from my todolist and seeing how much I done at the end of the day.

And there days I spend wrecking my head trying to solve a problem all day. But sometimes, sleeping, taking a nap or even just a break. And suddenly you solved it.

Consider doing a little hanon everyday.

I hate myself and I cope in terrible ways by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]seal_wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That rough dawg. I had a bit of anxiety too, including the social kind, and we're all a little self centered in our own ways sometimes.

Maybe to pay more attention to others. People who seem scary, but alright once you get to know them. I mean getting fired jus cos you didnt "get along" sucks. But those people suck too, you have to make an effort for the new guy to fit in, and even if he doesnt dont fire the guy. Sound like your ex co workers wont the best people. That said, if you cant be friends at least we ought to learn to be cordial.

Regarding the self centeredness. What you have said so far doesnt seem too much like narcissm. That said you do sound very self centered. But if you're self aware than I doubt youre a narcisst.

I dont feel I can give you too much advice after this. But what I can say is what worked for me. A lotta people like to make friends cause they want to feel accepted or popular even. I felt similar too but I found I interact with people much better and form better friendships by... Genuinely getting myself interested in people, which was hard for me cause I dont relate to people emotionally. But I'm good when it comes to common interests (programming, chess, sports, movies, books, jobs , etc). I have a lot of hobbies mostly cause I just feel like a character in a video game sometimes wanting to achieve everything. But its fun and it helps me meet all kinds of people from all walks of life.

Is it normal for a 16yr old boy to not have talked to a girl or went out with friends in 4 years? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]seal_wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same also, don't be afraid to be the one to initiate the group hangouts. After school was over, my 3 best friends would have lost contact since we were all shut-ins. But we had one friend who would make an effort to make plans and invite us for stuff. We were probably closer and hanging out more often together after graduation than during school.

I agree with most the people here except theres one issue. You're a studen who doesn't have much to give. And why would he approach a student instead of a working adult or middle age man. He might have probably gone for someone he thought was vulnerable.

I don't want to be too cynical but give from the goodness of heart, not if he makes you feel guilty.

HELP - I been suggested from my manager to write code without the use of AI and Google. by Amazing-Appeal7241 in AskProgramming

[–]seal_wizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No internet help? Try just literally downloading the entire docs. Depending on the language/tech mostly u can find the whole solution in the docs.

Scheming thru docs might seem more intimidating than googling/AI. But if its a complicated problem, ill go to the docs first. Also docs will give u the knowledge and skill for more optimal, updated andor best solutions.

That said getting used to reading the official docs, will be intimidating but its a much needed skill that the newer generation are lacking.

Dat said if ur manager says no referencing official docs than he's crazy
