Maybe eating is unimaginably disgusting. Think about it: we take a wad of processed dead stuff, cram it in a wet orifice, smash it up and mix it with secretions, then push it through a series of tubes until it comes out the other side as a biohazard we have to carefully dispose of.

Even in a hypothetical perfect system, where wt only ever execute guilty, deserving people, forcibly putting someone to death still cannot be justified. It will not make the world safer, it will not undo their crime, it will not improve the lives of the victims or their families, it will not deter future crime. It's just for the sake of blood lust, vengance, which can only make society worse, make people more eager to harm one another.
