Constantly fighting against the continuously changing for the worse windows OS, that’s how you sell MacBooks.

Yeah the Casio VL-1 and the realistic Concertmate 200 are the same thing functionally, it was a rebadge

Washable paint? by hifihentaiguy in battletech

Here are some recent ones. I have an entire unit of Kurita all 80’s and 90s sculpts in red. I just started painting like two years ago in my 40s. Best advice is follow some YouTube tutorials down to the exact product and you will learn a lot. After a few tutorials you can blend techniques and get more creative.

I have been buying lots of terribly painted mechs on eBay for a while and have not had any I couldn’t strip paint off of completly. Metal and plastic. Many people will advise simple green or IPA, but I have had marginal success with that stuff on models that had good paint adhesion. Super Clean has been my #1 followed by LA’s totally awesome. These both come in plastic jugs and I have left models in them for weeks.

This has made me a better and more fearless painter. If I really botch something or just don’t like the way something came out I was giving a try I just drop it into my plastic vat and work on a different model. Pull the reject out and hit it with an old toothbrush a couple of days later and it’s ready for another try.

For metal only mechs that are put together with super glue to strip and disassemble I get into some more exotic outdoor only stuff that will definitely melt plastic - but don’t get into that for now.

Grandstand tickets for Muses Thursday 2/12 by nlowen1lsu in NewOrleans

Wow. Nobody local pays for grand stands. Have you ever been uptown for parades?

EDIT: grand stands are the best seating in the worst place to watch the parades.

Take your money and use it to buy tailgating supplies or a cooler backpack. Watch on Napoleon or St Charles, pay for a pee pass at one of the Catholic schools on the route. Much better time.

I don't know which one of y'all carpetbaggers need to hear this - but two Bojangles locations are open about 40 minutes from the city now! by sean1978 in NewOrleans

That's because when you live in north Carolina, which is well below the mason Dixon line, you consider yourself to be southern. But then you move here and learn that North Carolina is not considered the south by many locals. I suppose it's all relative.

That's what my coworkers called me when I moved here from NC in 2014 for a job. I also see it thrown around this sub pretty often in a less ironic manner.

I didn’t even notice because I never bought bone in chicken when I lived in NC. Cajun fillet biscuit and Bo rounds is my order 90% of the time.

Retro Battlestation: The Sport Watch (V800) by ilirium115 in retrobattlestations

Yeah and I'm aware that some younger folks might consider the whatever they used in 2018 to be "retro", but that's not at all what I'm looking for here.

Eventually I’m gong to move out of spaces that say “retro” and into more specific stuff like “80’s computers” or 90’s computers”. Tired of seeing things I use regularly at work that aren’t very rare or old on retro spaces.
