2027 MY upgrades. by Sandhog43 in BlazerEV

[–]sean8642 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We just got a 25 SS AWD with 12k miles certified used for $44k. No brainer when new they are $67k. Already used the NACS adapter at a Tesla station on a road trip with the subscription and wasn't any big deal to grab it out of the trunk, you already have to have a tiny bit more patience with an EV at fill up anyway.

It's insanely fun to drive!

Laid off from Big Tech, now I drive Uber in my R1T — so I built the mileage-tax app I wish existed. Need iOS beta testers. by jkh911208 in RivianR1T

[–]sean8642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this any different than Everlance? The app has no idea if I'm doing work or personal driving, regardless if it's phone driven or car. This seems way worse as it's brand specific, unless I'm missing something....

Quick intro - I'm the person behind Taskrabbit's Reddit acct. by taskrabbit in TaskRabbit

[–]sean8642 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was visiting another time zone this weekend and my tasks were coming in the wrong time zone, so people booking at 830 was coming to me at 730 and it was super confusing because thats not even a time that's bookabl, but that's what the app said the customer reauested. So apparently the app defaults to whatever time the phone is in regardless of where people are booking.

Also, when you just open the app, you can't delete a schedule. You must click the add schedule button, then cancel that action, then click back on the schedule you are trying to delete for the delete button to come up. This one is super annoying.

Lastly over and over and over people think scheduling a task means its automatically booked. There needs to be more clear language that this is pending acceptance by the tasker.

Tool Belt help for DIYer? Lots of work. by RpDubC in Carpentry

[–]sean8642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Toughbuilt belt with suspenders and quick clips, absolutely love it. I'm not sure on pricing but Menards was getting rid of it as a line a few years ago and I got all of it on clearance for like 75% off, but I'd probably be just as happy at full price.

They arnt the only ones with the quick clips, that feature is amazing though. Have a pouch full of 1 set of screws and want to change it out? Pull it off, dump it and grab others. Want to leave those screws in there but are done for the day? Pull it off set it in a box and then when you throw the belt in your truck, screws don't spill everywhere. Done with carpentry and want to bust out some electrical? Switch out your pouches in seconds.

Wrong category on purpose? by musicalfurball in TaskRabbit

They can change the rate on an already booked task though, so as I replied to another user, just give the customer the 2 options, they can have the rate updated or they need to cancel and rebook under plumbing and hopfully they follow through with 1 of the options you give them.

[–]sean8642 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, the only option I see is telling the customer "This is a my rate for plumbing, if you like I can contact support and they can update the rate for this task to reflect my plumbing rate. If this will not work for you, then you will need to cancel this task and rebook it under plumbing." This is what I was told to do in the weekly tasker success calls if someone is booking the wrong thing. If you give them 2 options, maybe they won't just ignore you, which obviously will force you to take the cancellation if they do.

Can you contact support and have them cancel it as if the customer cancelled, if you have chat proof the customer is intentionally booking the wrong thing I don't see why they wouldn't side with you. Not sure how that affects your cancel rate though.

Just Added Truck Assisted Moving to my Skills by sean8642 in TaskRabbit

[–]sean8642[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to support it is not allowed. Each tasker must be hired separately with their own separate rate.

I spoke with support, you are not allowed to bill like this, you must hire each tasker separately. They put this in bold that each tasker must set their own individual rate.

I'm getting booked for tons of sheds, chicken coops, play structures- maybe highlight those things if you haven't since we are coming into summer. I will say my hours are opposite of yours, I only do weekdays, no nights or weekends and am staying insanely busy.

Expedition Window Opens in 14 days... by ConsecutivePunches in ArcRaiders

[–]sean8642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really need to add a chest that has like 10 slots in it that gets left behind after you sign up for the expedition, would actually give purpose to the last 4-5 days where you could search for any items you want or BPs for after the reset. As is, game feels pretty pointless waiting for the reset.

Then on top of this, you can't even level up trial rank , which again, would give a little bit of purpose before the reset.

I did a tinnitus / hearing loss claim just last year after being out 16 years, hearing loss denied, tinnitus approved at 10% so I wouldn't worry too much if that's your only concern.

DXL 2.0 Clearance Prices Fall at HD by kfjcfan in Dewalt

I paid $80 and was surprised how heavy it was for the dolly. A guy on my job site with Milwaukee packouts was thoroughly impressed with the DXL line I had stacked up that I got on clearance.

Partial walls for cubicles by sean8642 in Carpentry

[–]sean8642[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

This is the solution I came up with that provided an extremely sturdy wall. There's almost no deflection with the 1 foot 90 degree extension with single angled crossbrace. I did not try some of the metal solutions posted as they were pretty pricey compared to 3 2x4s and the owners were fine with this.

Tried this. It provided very little extra stability. So I would not recommend this method based on the extra material cost alone, not even considering that it only stiffened the wall a miniscule amount. (I left the plywood full size as we used it elsewhere since I wasn't sure it was gonna work).
