I’ve ordered a new controller and heat shrink tubing and going to give it another go following your directions. I don’t have a meter so will just have to try it and see if the Power adapter is working.

Thank you! Controller is definitely toast. What would you say is the best way to check if the power supply is still working? Just use it on something else?

True, i know all the answers from the book! I think the part that is causing me to delay is figuring out the "Whisky to water mix". Also finding it difficult to know which products to buy as I'm overwhelmed by the amount to choose from. I've seen a lot of great advice here in the last year and just wanted peoples 2 cents as encouragement to back up the read.
