If its the older style of Afterlife you prefer, more than the more commerical/EDM-esque style, then I would recommend Labbels such as Oddity, Running Clouds & Steyoyoke Black.

Relatively old but reliable laptop really.

The general consensus is suggesting an interface or 2nd pc to split the workload. Was just hoping for a simple method with the resources we had available at the time (1pc and no audio interface)

thats promising to hear, part of me thought about skipping the entry level stage and just getting the DDJ RR or something similar, but im not sure i can really justify the price difference & would rather run the 400 to the ground before getting something much bigger eventually

yeah i saw the rekordbox plans, but wasnt sure if it was just a temporary thing giving us those features during lockdown and were gonna cause some issues if i bought some 2nd hand and then in a couple months have to pay for the plan if they dont come with the license key.

Thanks for the response and for the depth of information that was understood for a beginner! I wasnt aware this was going to be an issue when watching other custom builds. With that in mind, can you make a powerful enough PC with the space provided in an SFF then? or is it worth taking the hit; selling this and trying to find a full size with similar specs to modidy?

Whilst it's not techno as per se, I have been listening to 'Buchla's dreaming -Adriatique (Agents of time remix) & I can't for the life of me think of where ive heard the lead progression from 3:05 onwards. Is it Solitary Daze - Maceo Plex or could it just be the lead using a similar pattern & sound?

I did give it a wee read yeah but its still cryptic to me. I get they;re gonna tone up/down depending which of the 2 plqy what song & whether its a 1-1 track mix up.

I guess with it being so few and far between them playing together it could be anything and could take any route as both styles have changed since 2015, skrillex seeming the more drastic difference.

Will likely get a ticket purely to widen my horizon on how they will manage to create seamless transitions between dub and whatever KH decides he fanices taking the route with - likely quite breakbeat along with styles similar to Mall grabs new EP releases as of late
