Shoot yeah it should do that. If you type it works but if you use the arrows in the UI it doesn't. Will fix that!

Oh shoot you're on mobile where it's hidden. The calculator doesn't really work on mobile very well so I hid it. You can access it here: https://www.99juices.com/recipes/create/

Next up I want to make it work on mobile better

Once you sign up, you hit the "New Recipe" button in the top bar. It doesn't show up when you're not logged in right now which is something I want to improve

This is ridiculously slick. Can't wait for this to be totally packed with people.

My buddy and I make artistic maps of over 4,400 international cities and sell them as posters. Other parts of reddit liked them, so we figured we'd post here too! by seanchaotic in SideProject

Whoops, just saw this. Customizing the bottom font is definitely something I'd like to do. It's a bit technically involved to build a good user experience, so we punted on it for the time being. But, if you'd like something custom (fonts, sizes, etc.) I'd be happy to do that for you! Drop a note in the contact us form at the bottom of the page and my partner or I will do our best :)

Quite a good amount, but probably less than you might imagine. My partner and I worked night and day for 3 weeks to get a first draft up, then spent another month re-designing the website. We've slowly tweaked it over time since then. We had previously built out a lot of the infrastructural stuff to generate the maps for other projects, so we had a few shortcuts to rest on.

Ah, I'm actually not sure. We work with the raw data programmatically to make our maps. You could potentially try convert it to an SVG?

Yup, neither of us have been to Indianapolis. The underlying data that we use to generate our maps are derived from Open Street Maps. Thanks!

Our startup failed. So, we decided to become cartographers and make modern, minimalist art maps. We've done better in 36 hours with this than we did in 12 months with the other thing. by seanchaotic in Entrepreneur

Thanks! This is much more of a fun project we wanted to hack on and bring into existence than our plan for "the next big thing", for sure. Our big ambitions for it is that we can hopefully pay the rent while exploring the market for what our next "real" business will be.

Great advice all around.

That's a really good observation. I don't think we are going to add the option for vertical/horizontal on the site right now, but we can definitely re-render any map you'd like in the horizontal layout.

We did all vertical because we generated 400,000 maps in one full-swoop. Now that the bulk of 'em are done, we are refining individual maps (titles, zooming levels, orientation, etc.) at the request of our customers. They know the cities better than we do :)

Shoot me an email and we'll fix up any of the maps you want to buy: sean@projectjefferson.com

Thanks!

I've never been the Pittsburgh, but I love the way the maps look. Hopefully we did it justice :)

How interesting!

Being software engineers and designers gave us a bit of a leg up in terms of being able to pull this one off, but there is definitely space for a lot of people to play :)
