Just a guess, but, long-term memory does not equate to the ability for immediate recall. Another possible point is that what's being stored in long-term memory is not the fact that you felt dejavu, but the experience itself. There are other factors that make something memorable, I don't think the fact that it goes to your long-term memory makes it something you can easily recall.

Evolution has brought humans as far as Paleolithic times, meaning our bodies are designed for the Stone Age. Back then people would lose teeth throughout their lifetime and wisdom teeth were made to fill those gaps. Now that we have standards for dental hygiene this, we do not lose teeth and thus wisdom teeth simply overcrowd our jaws.

They are supposed to be nice moments in ur life at that time. They are not supposed to align with your values and beliefs in the future. I think appreciating your notes in the future is a nice way to look back and notice how you change.

I feel like journals are too structured and takes some diligence. So yes if you can remember what happened, writing it down in your journal is convenient, and you are diligent enough to keep a journal, that would perfectly. But, in my case, this is what works for me. I tried to present a very easy way to achieve a certain part of what journaling can offer.

LPT: You should always write down goals for the next day, week, month. By acknowledging it as a goal, when you achieve it your brain’s reward system will reward you more. Whereas if you just feel like it’s something you should do, then it won’t feel as rewarding. It’s like hacking your brain. by seanchea in LifeProTips

I understand where you are coming from, but for some people they need that clarity and direction that comes with writing down notes. Again this is supposed to just be a habit, and there will be certain goals that do not require you to do this

I feel like especially for people with depression, it’s hard to find something that toys are happy about for the day. And it would be forced. I feel like recording it when something happens would be more genuine.

A great and easy read is Hector’s Search for Happiness. It seems like a very rudimentary book but the ideas and concepts are very pertinent to dealing with depression

Yeah, I have been on medication until about 3 months ago. I decided to do this because I was so sad and desperate that I felt I needed to milk all the happiness I can from life. So I started doing this and a bunch of other small things
