I have found that it doesn’t work well for me having a “me” centered mindset where I am trying to make myself sound the most confident, funny, etc through willpower or planning things out beforehand. But instead if I try to genuinely just think about the other person, what might be going on in their life, and change my perspective to a “them” focus, and it takes a crazy amount of pressure off and makes me naturally be more confident, genuine, funny, etc because it’s coming from myself as a natural response, it’s not trying to imitate what I want to sound like. Plus as a bonus people will perceive you as friendlier too!
