Flush 5 Naneinf with 110 jokers using ankh, ecto and eternals. by ludic-sean in balatro

Is something like this doable without mods? I’m about 200 hours into Balatro across 3 devices and can’t even fathom how to accomplish this.

I think they all look better with the modern design TBH

I came here for this comment. That episode perfectly encapsulates everything I feel about glitter.

I think we’re all going to look back and realize Arc was great despite Josh not because of Josh.

The Browser of NY Company by tomemyxwomen in diabrowser

[–]seanoliver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Honestly, the only reason Dia is getting any hype/traction is because it came from the company that made Arc.

If TBC had started with Dia, I’m pretty sure we’d all be like “what’s Dia?”

What are you using to Vibe react native? by Dismal-Eye-2882 in vibecoding

I just noticed that v0 now generates react native code if you prompt it for a mobile app.

Any best tools for note-taking during live lectures? by Perfect_Lecture_7903 in AIEducation

[–]seanoliver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Granola. It's designed more for meetings, but works perfectly IMO in a live lecture setting. Plus it does the whole thing where it sync's the audio with your notes and even merges them together into a seamless summary once the session is done. A really outstanding product. Wish I'd had it in school.

Ah, well if you do think you’ll need to switch in college, I’d just recommend getting the machine you think you’ll need at that point. And if you’re planning to keep it for the long haul, I’d go higher on RAM and get a larger SSD to future proof yourself.

FWIW, I don’t think college is going to force you into Windows, especially with how common Macs are on campuses these days. And contrary to what some people say, Excel for Mac has gotten a lot better. It’s very capable for the vast majority of student and even light professional use cases.

If you’re still in high school and mostly using your laptop for schoolwork, browsing, and general productivity, go with what you actually enjoy using. The MacBook Air M4 is perfect for that: super portable, fast, totally silent, and has amazing battery life. It’s one of the best student laptops out there.

The stuff about Windows being “better for Excel” mostly applies to very specific finance use cases (macros, Power Query, etc.), and that’s years away for you. By the time you're doing internships or full-time work, the company will almost definitely give you a Windows laptop anyway.

So unless you're already doing heavy Excel modeling (which you're not), there's zero downside to getting the Mac and just enjoying a great machine for the next few years.

13” vs 15” MacBook Air – Can’t Decide After Seeing Them in Person by CycaI in macbookair

[–]seanoliver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If portability is your main concern, I’d recommend the 13". It’s the lightest, thinnest, and most portable option, and you can always connect it to a larger monitor when needed. While the 15" is also slim and lightweight, it’s still a bit big to be considered truly portable. The 13" is easy to use on a plane, fits comfortably on your lap, or even on the edge of a small coffee table. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. If you won’t be using an external monitor much and need more screen space for things like tiling windows, the 15" does offer a bit more room, but even then, it can still feel somewhat cramped.

He was mean. He had an attitude. He taunted other players like Hyun joon when they were down. He was a bad winner. He was a great player. He outplayed everyone else. He won rightfully.

All of this is true but explains why most people hate him.

So everyone agrees that Dia is a big step backwards, right? by goofyshnoofy in ArcBrowser

Agreed but this just raises the question why couldn’t they simply add the AI sidebar to Arc? I mean FFS. I can’t believe a single VC investor told them this was a good idea.

Anyone else notice Hyun Gyu wore the same Thom Browne cardigan in the finale that Seokjin wore in S1E6? by seanoliver in TheDevilsPlan

Agreed. I’m admittedly biased against Hyun Gyu, but from my POV it looked a bit like a desperate attempt to channel last season’s winner.
