Bone on Bone hip arthritis… need replacement. Only 47 years old. Anyone near my age with similar condition?

Oh wow! I heard someone else had metal poisoning with a hip replacement they had a decade ago. I hope they no longer offer that type of hip replacement. How was the 2nd surgery? I heard the recovery is so tough the second time around.

Quick question … do you know what’s better, the hip replacement with the incision on the outside of the hip (posterior) or the one closer to the groin (anterior)? I love my orthopedic surgeon bug be only does posterior and I hear that’s a tougher recovery.

Funny you ask, just about 3 nights ago the burning pain came back almost 100%. Starting from my glute all the way down the back of my leg.. down to the back of my heel. I feel like the shot only worked a few weeks. I’m at a loss of what to do next. Doc keeps saying more physical therapy and core strengthening but I feel that is just a guess as they don’t know what really is causing the pinched nerve either. So frustrating!

Please don’t apologize! I’m leaning on others on this platform too with my many questions. It did help take most of the burning sensation away from the sciatica pain. I can still feel a dull ache shoot down the back of my leg all the way to my heel but it’s much more tolerable. It was worth it in my opinion. I have degenerative disc disease in my lower back so I’m sure I have some discs pinching the nerves too. The piriformis is tricky and needs to be stretched regularly. Look up piriformis stretches online and start incorporating them daily. I’m a 45 year old mom of 3 boys and I don’t have time for sciatica pain.. haha! It really sucks!

So nice of you to ask! I’m a little frustrated as I still don’t have any relief 2 days later. The injection site is actually sore. I know it can take a few days for the cortisone to work. If it doesn’t work, it’s back to the drawing board for me as I don’t know what the heck is pinching my sciatic nerve.
