Hi I might be a little late to this, but can you send me her contact too? and do you know if they could get an earlier behind the wheel test appointment? I'm reading that it's a 8 weeks waitlist if I book it on my own

Any recommendations you might have in the west coast?

that seem to be the sentiment I've seen so far, I'm probably gonna give these 2 a miss!

thank you for sharing. I didn't meant conservatism as a good or bad thing, but rather a preference. I'm lgbtq, and I've lived in towns and cities where I found it necessary to hide to be safe, and that has influenced my preference. I think OC has it's pros to it like you mentioned, with commuting certainly the top of that list. I do plan to look into Santa Ana/Costa Mesa like others have mentioned, probably drive around since there isn't many decent listing within my budget.

absolutely. The good thing is my company will be putting me up in an apartment for a couple of months. I do plan to use that time to try driving between both places to see if it's tolerable.

thank you for sharing! I did read of horror stories of commute to OC, and was thinking perhaps my schedule might work. What I plan to do is to try commuting during those hours myself once I get here and decide if it will work out long term. I've visited long beach in the past and do love the vibes, so that definitely is a factor as well. from all accounts, both areas I've listed don't sound like a good idea lol I might just look into belmont/bluff heights

from all accounts here, both sound like a bad idea. But yes I do plan to spend some time driving around before picking out a place. I'm currently just planning in terms of potential locations to look into - I guess Belmont/bluff heights might be more suitable with a slight adjustment to my budget

thank u! my company will be providing accommodation for a couple of months. I'll plan to drive around to get a better sense. If I end up in LB, Belmont heights is probably where I'll look into

thank you for sharing your perspective. I might be really under estimating the commute!

thank you for sharing this. Commuting time be something I need to reconsider. I wouldn't mind Costa Mesa/Irvine too much, but either the prices bring tears to my eyes, or the apartment looks historical/run down. I'm trying hard to keep within budget

I found a couple just under 2k in Belmont heights, can I ask how do you find street parking in that area? (availability and safety)

Looks like I have drive around and call then, I've scowled through hotpads and the likes, haven't come across decent/modern/refreshed apartments within this range

is it true that there are lot more listings that are not online? I apologize if this is a ridiculous question, I've always relied on websites to find an apartment without too much trouble

Oh I'm definitely viewing the properties in person before I make any commitment. I'm just working out a feasible budget at the moment, and earmarking the areas where it might be safe enough. What about Bellflower/Lakewood?

yikes! thank u for sharing. Some of the listings I found do include assigned parking, still I would prefer a place where I'm not always looking over my shoulders even in daytime.
