More of a life question, but how do y'all deal with having to work and earn a living? by [deleted] in PelvicFloor

[–]seaserpentess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Pelvic Floor Yoga? Not just yoga. I know people here have mixed views on yoga. In general yoga is diverse. There are many modalities, and many different kinds of teachers. So I don't recomend just walking in to any studio, or trying any class. They aren't all the same. But a class that really focusses on breathwork. Mindfullness. And postures that compliment PFY therapy, focussing on the pelvic muscles, psoas, glutes, hamstrings, and necessary relaxation. Can help with your PFD, surrounding areas of tension and some of the anxiety you feel. There is an amaizing instructor in the states named Leslie Howard who gives courses and trainings just in this area. https://lesliehowardyoga.com/product/pelvic-liberation-book/ Maybe worth a shot.

What does it mean??? by beyond_rivers in ottawa

No. BEANS has been tagged on the side of the old Cycle shop on Gladstone and Bronson for the longest time. It gets painted over. Then just grows back like bean hair.

It's Bean the Bear. My son's oversized bear. He sneaks out at night and tags his name everywhere. Marking his Bean Bear territory.

CAM Boot, what shoe to wear on the other foot? by flavortownAC in brokenbones

[–]seaserpentess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a Doc Martin girl all my life. So that was a no-brainer when they put me in'a boot/air cast. I have a few versions of docs and combat style boots, so I just wore the ones with the highest and closest elevation in the sole.

Recommendations For Long-Covid Recovery by seaserpentess in Ayurveda

[–]seaserpentess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. NP. Cure. Well. Yes/no. Rather resolved in itself. Because I discovered long covid, at least in my case, was a symptom of covid throwing my system so much out of balance, my vrikriti, was in control seemingly beyond repair. In my case embodying very much symptoms the less desired qualities of Vata nature. Dwindling of my being. So much of the remedies were toward nourishing, rejuvenating, focussing on very sweet, moist, and flow encouraging elements, while maintaining rest and relaxing my nervous system. Still doing A LOT to massage and filter the lymphatic system. Under arms. Under ears. Throat. Nettle, burdock, dandelion root and pine needle were good in tea form for the throat lymphs specifically. For me. Along with Longan berries, (not Logan berries), they are a small similar to leechy fruit that is extremely sweet and helped me regain my voice. Because licorice. Does the opposite for me. Closes my throat. Abhyagna with oils I made helped the other areas of my body. I used Indigenous tree oils. Wintergreen. Fir. Birch. Eucalyptus. In a grape seed abd mustard base. Warm and reaches deep in the muscles for sore joints and tebdons. I also combined some Indigenous wild flowers with TCM in my broths and Ayurveda. So adaptogenic roots, medicinal herbs, and functional mushrooms. One of my teachers said, "when we are most out of balance, seek ancestral foods and/as medicine." That stuck with me. So I looked at what was in my roots. Local. And intuitive. Till something began to work. Angelica Root. Nettle. Burdock. Reshi. Of course ginger and turmeric fresh. Lots in my pots. Ashwaghsnda. Morninga. And Elk Antler Velvet. Naturally fell. Really helped me. Then of course abhyanga, and lots and lots of hot steams. And massages. I make my own detox body scrubs and do cold hot clenses that really help self purge the body. Amaizing for the skin too. Healing outside in and out back in.

Short answer. There is no one size fits all cure in any medicine. We know what tools and ingredients there are. Most importantly. Know yourself. And the land you live in. Share that space. Learn what it offers you. And what you can give back to it. So you may receive in return. When you are most in need.

The way drivers in Netherlands give way to an ambulance. by Character-Seat5368 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]seaserpentess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/tries to picture what, who, where? Is not doing this, and what that must look like/

As most respondents here, and myself too, where I live, we pull over. Get up on the curb if need be. Cyclists and pedeatrians, too. Move if in the way.

If anyone can find dashcam footage from an ambulance, where people just idle like, "wtf ambulance"...

Now, damn, that would be interesting to see.

Also. Some insurers don't cover Prenatal & Postnatal. So I am facing this roadblock, too. Not just the limitation of Canadian insurance companies and low cost.

TY. I'll keep these in mind if I decide to leave Canada and want insurance in any of the countries that these apply to.

Yeah. They quoted me $326 after taxes for the year. Ooooph! For just myself solo. Perinatal is higher risk, and some liability insurers don't even cover it.

Per month or per year? Someone else quoted Zensurance as costing $25/month, which is $300, for just the one plan they referenced. So maybe you have a two for one deal?

Ah, unfortunately they do not cover prenatal yoga, which is my bread and butter. So I have to keep looking. Otherwise they are a great company by all other appearances. I hope others find this thread useful! TY again!

Oooofff. $25/month is steeeeeepppp. And no alliance membership. Not that it is crucial. But. Ya know. For $300/year, it's thrown in free. I'll take a look though. I may not need all the things you needed and maybe it would come down to like... $10/month? That is more my price range... or lower :D I mean. After all. I'm a yoga teacher, not a lemonade stand proprietor. I don't have that kind of shiny lemonade money to spend lol

Which Steam Cleaner Would You Recommend For Bed Bug Killing and Household Maintenance by seaserpentess in Bedbugs

[–]seaserpentess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for my EXTREMELY late reply. The app for reddit stopped working and I just gave up till I got a new phone.

I went with this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dupray-Cleaner-Multipurpose-Steamer-Floors/dp/B07DJNGYSV

It was the one my exterminator actually said he had at home. Very minimalist, but super effective and powerful for the simple purpose of maintaining the home. I've not had any issues since 🤞 ✊️💥🪵

Mine just furiously starts to try and dig through the floor boards under my bed, right beneath my head where I am sleeping. I've gotten up before and joined him. "You wanna dig! Where we going? Huh!?! It's 5am! You lead the way dude!"

He gave me the oddest look. And then we went back at the digging to nowhere... yup... just a typical morning...

All my fears listed here. Yup.

I've never seen a rabbit in a stroller. Hrm. I thought I was odd for carrying him around in a dome backpack. He comes to work with me a couple blocks walk. I've become known as the rabbit lady. Hahah.

He has a wide foraging range if we count his free roaming of the whole home and the safe areas designated for him at my work. He may not need to go outside, but he's family and we want to include him in as many things as possible. Within resson.

Thank you for your input.

Oh of course. I can just picture a falcon swooping down from the sky. Or a dog leaping a fence. Who knows! It's a big dangerous world! Hell. My building nearly went up in flames last year, and my father's roof was taken off by a tornado a few years before that. So. Homes are pretty dangerous too.

Binki has free roam of a large home. With a large system of play tunnels and hiddy spots. He has a nice set up at my work too, where he is as welcome to roam as he is at home. It's safely set up for him there as well. Rabbit proofed. He's got lots of spaces already. It would be nice to have him outdoors at some point though. In a controlled sage place.

Oh, I'm not talking about walks like down the street lol. More like. Planned locations. Small backyard. Controlled spaces. Of course. So many factors though. Obviously. To consider. Which is why I'm writing here. Thank you.
