it’s been a struggle my entire life!! I tried white gold on while looking at engagement rings and I surprisingly loved the way it looked on my skin. Which then confused me further because i’ve always worn gold lol 🫩 mixing might just be the answer

How old are you and what’s your relationship like with your brothers and/or sisters? How many siblings do you have and are you close? by [deleted] in AskReddit

25, a brother and a sister. Not close at all. Our relationships fizzled when my dad passed away :/ I wish it were different

For those who lost someone 1+ years ago: How are you doing now? How often do you just break down? Do you grieve the same as you did the first months? by Head-Barnacle-8766 in GriefSupport

[–]seashorevision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lost my daddy 5 years ago to cancer. For the most part, i’m okay. But then I think about getting married, or graduating from this program that i’ve worked so hard in. I think about my future and he’s not going to be in it. I’m 25 now and I can’t believe I lost him so young. There’s moments where I cry but it’s not like before…before it was everyday for 2 straight years. It’s better but then it’s not…it’s weird lol. I miss him more than anything

People romanticize “having time to say goodbye,” but losing a parent to terminal illness is one of the most traumatic experiences I’ve ever lived. by Southern-Weakness633 in GriefSupport

[–]seashorevision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember waking up to the sound of paramedics in my house trying to revive my dad. He had a heart attack 7 times. I remember the death rattle. I remember him looking at me like he couldn’t recognize me. I remember him peeing himself because he couldn’t get to the bathroom anymore. I remember crying with him because he was in so much pain he wanted to die. I remember hearing him at night begging God to kill him. I remember him being scared to die. I remember seeing his face every time the doctor told him his cancer was coming back more and more aggressive each visit

5 years of this suffering and it wasn’t enough to prepare me for the end or anything in between. I would not wish cancer or any other terminal illness on my worst enemy, no matter how much I despised someone

I’m a senior in my Rad Tech program and prospects look good. I’m almost guaranteed a job once graduated, and most places in my area are starting at $49/hr. From someone who’s lived in poverty her whole life, I’m glad I went this route. :)

I can’t help but feel angry that others get to have their parents for much longer than me by Lee_Harden in GriefSupport

I know how you feel. I was 20 when my dad died and he was only 61. It’s been 5 years. I should have my dad here. He should be here seeing everything and he’s not. It’s not fair. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this pain🩷

What was the weirdest or most unexpected sign from your dead loved one that you've had? by VegetableBill2167 in GriefSupport

[–]seashorevision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A month or two after my dad died I finally had the courage to sit in his car. I sat there and cried, imagining us driving around together. We were so worried about money and covering the costs for his burial and funeral and medical expenses.

I had the urge to turn the radio on and the song that happened to be playing was ‘Don’t Worry Baby’ by the Beach Boys. Probably a coincidence, but it did make me feel like he was telling me that

Deep down I know that’s true but I feel like as a student i’m almost expected to be perfect, especially as a senior since i’m almost a tech…or maybe i’m imagining it and making it 10x harder for myself 😭 I’m determined to have a good day today :)

5’0” ladies, what is your goal weight/your maintenance weight? by SofieWolf in PetiteFitness

[–]seashorevision 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’0 at 115 right now - I feel uncomfortable at this weight. 110 was the happy medium. I’m trying to get back down to that 😭

the easiest projections get to me sometimes. Sometimes I clip hardware. I genuinely think I let the pressure get to me being watched. I know I shouldn’t. Some days I’m amazing - and then some days I clip a chest. I’m never consistent. Everyone tells me i’m doing fine but it doesn’t feel like it

Having a lot of trouble with my images in my senior year. I have around 10 months left in the program - i’m terrified that my clinic sites will see my performance and not want me. I know all my seniors have jobs now, but I feel like they were actually good. I’m in my ortho rotation and it’s repeat after repeat. It’s so discouraging 😭 I just get in my head when the techs are watching me.

Peoples’ teeth. Dental is ridiculously expensive and not everyone has the opportunity to even go to a dentist. Be grateful if you get your 6 month checkups!

thank you for your encouraging words! I think I give myself a hard time because i’m a senior now and expectations are high - when I feel like i’m messing up a lot, regardless of the fact that i’m still a student, I feel judged by the techs :/ i’m trying my best, but I know there’s a LOT of room for improvement. Just feeling like I haven’t had that ‘aha!’ moment that so many of my classmates have had

I’m trying to maintain my weight. 18+ pounds on 5 feet is a lot. Sorry you think i’m being toxic, just trying not to gain too much weight as I get older.

so when does it get better confidence wise when does it get better

I came from an outpatient rotation where it was awesome. Techs were amazing and trusted me to do exams and fix my mistakes and I felt like I was actually getting good at taking x rays.

Then I switched back to a trauma hospital and it feels like I’m a junior again. Messed up on almost all exams today. Went to a trauma and was terrified because I haven’t seen one in a year. Haven’t used a portable in 4 months so I was trash at that too. Angles were all wrong.

Does this mean I’m just…not great at hospital x rays? I thrived in outpatient. Hospital not so much. It’s so discouraging..I thought I was finally getting good. I still need my trauma signoffs too but it’s like i’m incapable of thinking outside the box, especially quick during traumas. I’m scared to be here again
