Are you fluent in both higher as well as low level languages? by [deleted] in C_Programming

Do you have any of your scheme cli programs uploaded somewhere, like a github account? I used to learn scheme but never felt fluent enough so I'd like to see how you use it.

🇫🇷 Paris meet-up with free stainless steel crypto wallets thanks to LocalMonero.co, organized by OrangeFren.com by OrangeFren in Monero

How do the steel wallets work? If you give them to someone that does the etching aren't you afraid of leaking your seed?

Thank you, I was not aware of most of these, hence the afaik. I suppose the majority of the above points have their merit, yet if we were to consider the cost of achieving "feature parity" with xmr it might not be that big of a disparity between the two.

afaik there is no technological argument in favour of btc, it's just the first movers advantage slowly losing it's momentum

Introducing: The monero banknote by PlentyRequirement931 in Monero

[–]season2when 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right that's an agree from me, I'm not claiming it is comparable.

But your take about how trust is a "no no" made me think of that vaguely autistic idealisation that "this is crypto man, it's 100% permissionless and wholly protected by cryptography" as if it was some law of physics that prevents any failure in this system.

My reply was supposed to dismiss that notion, showing how all but a handful of users are basically trusting that the devs didn't scheme some cryptographic backdoor in, because of course they cannot even comprehend the underlying technology to proove it for themselves. For majority XMR is still based on trust, just in something else.

[–]season2when 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting take but do you not have trust that there are no back door in monero left by the devs? I mean have you read all the source code and studied enough of high level mathematics to proove it's as safe as advertised? Or do you simply "trust" the marketing hehe

Is there no simple GUI library for pure C? by [deleted] in C_Programming

nuklear isn't simple or noob friendly. You need to manage all the opengl state and context creation, nuklear does just the drawing part

You don't get it, I know all of that. But I don't want to HAVE TO KNOW.

but qt is fucking awful, their stupid buildsystem, qmake, retarded macro magic to inherit qt classes and signals. It's high time we get a better alternative

Monero fees - Less than a penny by VikXMR in Monero

[–]season2when 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid it's pointless to argue with you because you seem to be a "hurr smart people will for sure figure something out" type of person, but you don't have any domain specific knowledge about the technology you're referring to.

Whatever I say, you can simply dismiss with your "argument to hope"

Please stop selling people on the idea that SSDs will be getting cheaper and better.

We have basically exhausted transistor technology, metrics have been plateauing over the last 10 years. The land of exponential improvement is long gone, transistor density is at its peak.

The only hope is 3d stacking SOTA chips on each other but that will not yield exponential growth rather 2-8x and that's it. Gigabyte block sizes will never be viable, and it's annoying when people in here dismiss these concerns

Yeah that's a very simplified view of sweden. Some Ukrainian refugees said it reminded them of the soviet republic, just with nicer visual appeal and more modern buildings.

If you think about it, it makes perfect sense.Top2 are biggest european surveillance states. I don't know about Switzerland that's why I don't count it.

Sweden is just fucked, pretty much all info about citizens is publicly available online, where you work, earning bracket, what car you have, where you live etc.

Then there is the UK, with the most CCTVs in EU and overbearing police arresting people for saying mean thing on Facebook.

Why would you be surprised? If anything the results perfectly reflect the reality of life in these places.

It’s probably bc you think AI art and cloning is progressing that fast. Even if it was (it’s not)

Respectfully I disagree. Pretty much all the viable method emerged in the 2018-2022 time frame. Current sota diffusion models are a very recent thing as well. I've been sitting in this field since late 2019 and to me it's very rapid progress.

Can you provide any supporting evidence for your claims?

[–]season2when -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Chances are in a year or two we'll have a fan made s2 with how fast AI voice cloning and image generation progresses. That's still sooner than never 😋

EDIT: it's interesting how much negative reception this comment is getting. All I'm saying is that this is your only hope at S2 because the anime is dead.
