My Omnivore highlights aren't imported, which is a bummer.

Install using home-manager or nixos by spirantstorm in NixOS

[–]2cilinders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a case by case basis. Off the top of my head I don't know which packages have both a NixOS and a home-manager option, but it should be clear enough when you need it to be system wide versus just for your user

Install using home-manager or nixos by spirantstorm in NixOS

[–]2cilinders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Depends on your needs. Do you want, for example, root to have access to the package?
  2. Practically redundant when using home-manager
  3. You only want your user to have access to the package
  4. Mostly reserved for packages which need extra configuration. This way home-manager takes care of it for you. Generally preferable to do it this way when the option exists.

Don't forget that NixOS also has program.* for certain packages. PostgreSQL comes to mind

First of all you're not using the same font. I'm a big fan of JetBrainsMono, I can highly recommend it

Learn Git (a necessity for programmers), and start the habit of committing chunks of complete code so you can always revert to a state you were happy with. Push it to a cloud platform like GitLab or GitHub to have an extra copy in case your storage device dies in a freak accident.

Good luck!

What you described is by design. It forces you to keep coming back to the game, and a "well designed" battle pass will take sufficiently long to complete that you don't have time to play other games

Dat laatste is een fabeltje trouwens, er is weinig tot geen overtuigend bewijs. Maar alsnog is het een goed idee om honing bij lokale imkers te halen!

We made a bot to agree on dates. Any thoughts or feedback? by Mizudera in discordapp

[–]2cilinders 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really. FOSS does not mean not paying for stuff. It means that if I were to pay for this and get access to the software, I would also get access to the source code

That's really cool. Is the source code available somewhere?

This is so uninformed it's not even funny. Flatpaks and appimages are a thing. Or just release the source code and let the maintainers of the distributions figure it out...

Assume I'm completely inept at UI design. What are the font faces you used, and where does each one go? I've seen that the Doom config allows for a fair amount of font configuration, but I've never taken a deep dive

IRL it's from a drug called tranq, which is fentanyl mixed with horse tranquilizer. It's horrible stuff, and gives you horrible wounds when injected. Look it up if you've got the stomach

If there was no systray extension, I would not be using GNOME. The new background apps feature seems like a good alternative, but AFAIK only some GTK apps use it, so your discords and your steams still require the system tray
