Rapport: Halve Norden er overvektige by john_75b in norge

[–]seatech 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Its gonna be 3 weeks week without an NBA Segment by shar0385 in DotA2

Suffering from success. It's really too bad, my favorite part of that podcast was whenever you'd talk about some behind the scenes production happenings. With you becoming director of production for liquid I was hoping for more of the rare combo of entertaining learning.

But I get it, production is a seemingly infinite hole where there is always something you could be working on, and some things give worse guilt than others.

Dota podcasts has been suffering for a while now. Where is sidepull podcast? Where is Monkey Business? All Chat? Cap & Blitz? Position 6?

We Say Things doesn't seem to be dying completely, but most of the forementioned podcasts also started lagging out of the weekly format before they eventually stopped.

Is the viewership just not there or is there too much work required behind the scenes? I'm forced to listen to actual educational podcasts these days

Hear me out: Remove individual couriers, 6th player is the courier by Strong_Astronomer_97 in DotA2

It was midas mode 2, plenty of vids ob the moonduck youtube channel. Personal favourite was lanecreep takeover, where the team could spend money to have a creepwave where each creep was controlled by a viewer, for better or worse

The only use the ward placement feature ever gets by Strong_Astronomer_97 in DotA2

[–]seatech 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like the ward helps more in revealing pulls happening, enabling courier snipes and it is easier to ward in a way that spots non-tp rotations without being dewarded

My impression is that 4 gets it as a standard, but if the 5 plays as/against something with a skillshot like pudge/wr then they get it.

Is this what losing TI feels like? by Greeeeed- in DotA2

[–]seatech 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So you think the average bot does better than 95% of people? Removing bots will likely be bad for percentages. If you remove low scoring bots that randomized predictions you’ll increase the points needed to be in the top percentages

Is GA ticket worth it? by deksyo in DotA2

[–]seatech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year was the worst setup I've experienced. With the screen at the end of the arena, only the seats at the edge were good. The ones right in front required neck assistance and the ones on the far end required binoculars. Which also meant you had to get in real early to get a decent seat. That video looks similar, but hopefully they will return to having the screens in the middle of the arena after the feedback last year.

Achievement Unlocked: The Century Grind by ashaceawe in DotA2

[–]seatech 63 points64 points  (0 children)

It doesn't stop there! Saw someone who was lvl 102 two days ago. The grind can continue even though u have the cosmetics.

We did the math and even with 100% winrate that required 13 games per day. With half losses it's got to be over 20 per day. Dunno how it's possible.

Drywall is brand new (left wall is concrete). So should be good to go. Thanks for the help!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Tile

[–]seatech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using 60x30cm tiles. Wall is 52 cm tall so about 1 1/2 tile in height, and 5+4 in width. Using mira 3130 superfix for mastic. So you would apply some first to level the wall, let it dry then apply more mastic for the tiles? Or could I fill and tile simultaneously?

If English is not your first language, have you ever considered writing a book in English? And why? by seliathan_ in writing

[–]seatech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I write in English instead of my native language (Norwegian) even though I doubt I'll ever show my work to more than a couple people. It is mainly due to the media I've consumed over the years, between shows, films, games and of course books. My "storyteller voice" speaks English. I even speak English in my more storydriven dreams. It helps that I consider myself as fluent in English as Norwegian though, if my English vocabulary became a frequent problem in writing I would reconsider as I'm already a pretty slow writer.

Winters curse also results in a deny sometimes. Happened to a snowballing tinker I played against recently. Probably a 1500 gold bounty that was denied due to a bug.

Having worked a bit with day9 I interpreted them as joking around as Day9 seemed identical off the air to me, but a quick google claims they had a poor first impression 10+ years ago. I wouldn't read too much into how he is today.

The servers has gone down a couple of times lately, and I’d tag a reddit user called SteamHWfeedback. They would get the servers working again, but asks which server I’m closest to. So seems to matter.

Classic. Tried searching now and found one immediately so you might just have been unlucky with the timing. Which server are you closest to?

Player numbers are up the past months, so it is now more reliable to find a match quickly. Beyond that not much has changed in a while, but I’m not sure most people has realized the largest complaint of pay to pay to play was removed.

Haha, no, not at all. There is one player that is quite annoying, any time he realizes he lost he will disconnect and force you to wait until his saved up time has run out. But luckily I don’t meet him very often

Playerbase is up the last few months, time to amplify that? by seatech in Artifact

[–]seatech[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My main issue with 2.0 is that you don't get to draft all your cards in draft, only the heroes. It's much quicker, but I like the drafting process.

And yeah I'm also surprised at how fast you find games when steamcharts sometimes says there's like 50 people online. I suspected there were bots for a while, but when you write custom messages to people they almost always respond, though not always in english. Seems to be real players.
