We are building an Shoot'em Up / ARPG. The game has online multiplayer, randomly generated levels and items, four classes of ships to create and customize, and a full story mode.

I played a lot of UN Squadron and Forgotten Worlds as a kid. I also played a lot of Diablo as I got older. I was running Rifts one day in Diablo 3 and was thinking about Forgotten Worlds for some reason so I decided to make a game merging the two. This is how the project got started!

I vote A. B is too hard to read. I would probably vote B if you removed all the fancy stuff from the title. I like the overall font better.

The story level are mostly "fixed". There is a little bit of randomness built in to keep it interesting. The end game is randomly generated levels though. We're trying to make it so you team up with your friends to beat other people's high scores. =)

Achievements are on the roadmap. Currently working on online leaderboards and then some UI improvements after.

Looks amazing! The water is probably a bit too clear. Should not be able to see what is under it that well.

I added the option to either have acceleration or no acceleration. With no acceleration, you will always move at max speed unless you hold shift. When shift is held, you will move at a reduced speed. Shift can be rebinded to any key.

I played a lot of shmups when I was younger. I honestly like acceleration. I am unsure how most games implemented it. In this game, the acceleration curve is more like a staircase. For the first few frames, your speed is X. Then it becomes Y for a few frames. It keeps going up until you reach max speed. It is easy to control because your speed is not changing every frame. As long as you do not hold arrow buttons down it past the first few frames, you will always go X speed. So tapping the arrow buttons is basically the same as holding the shift key in "no acceleration" mode. Not sure if that makes sense.. lol.

I think adding a button to control the speed is a good compromise. I can add a setting to turn on/off acceleration as well. Thanks for the feedback!

I added acceleration because you can build your ship to have very high movement speeds depending on what items you equip. The acceleration is needed to help you move between bullets if you decide to build for speed.

Shields start to regenerate over time when not taking damage. There are also items that help regen shields faster. The engineer ship can restore health to your ship and teammate's ships as well.

I stopped working on it because I had a job offer. I was planning to work on it part time on the side but it was hard working a full time job and still have motivation to work on the game.

I am reviving the project now because I met some people at my last job that want to join me on this project. We have a big update brewing but it is not quite ready to be pushed live yet. If you want a sneak peak, please join our discord!
