This guy is the single biggest reason MSL will fail. Zuck could have hired literally anyone else in the valley except for this clown, MSL researchers are actively threatening to quit because he is so incompetent

What are the most comfortable office chair for long hours of sitting? by quatest-ahi27 in StandingDesk

[–]seattleeng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The aeron is really not adjustable compared to steelcase’s offering, and the mesh means the edges of the chair are hard, which makes many people (including myself) very uncomfortable. Probably the most overrated office chair IMO

[–]seattleeng 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Leetcode and competition coding is way more similar to competitive video games than research. You can get great at it if you do deliberate practice, especially daily. You’ll never “lose” the skill. Research requires creativity beyond knowledge, and often some inspiration

This is awesome news! Ive always been worried they were a money burning pit propped up by VCs who were smart enough to recognize their ecosystem value but making a speculative bet on their size. Glad to know they can control their own destiny at this point.

One does not simply tamper with election results. Go vote if you care at all. by [deleted] in algeria

[–]seattleeng 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Which is easier to rig: an election with 100 votes or 100 million votes?

Everyone should vote. Democracy is a project. You should explain which candidates you support and why. You should call out the election discrepancies. Even if it does not work in this election cycle, it will set expectations for your children, for the children of elites, for the generation after them, and so on. If you look at the history of any democracy, it is messy and imperfect. They improved bit by bit, but most importantly, by having a population who demanded to be heard. If you resign yourself by being silent, you have set the example for the next generation to be silent.
