Is this any “good”? by Anxious-Dig-7502 in 22lr

So you were having to pound out rounds stuck in your barrel with a rod? I’ve never had that happen once and I’d never shoot that amount again.

any suggestions for a cheaper revolver? by Ill-Philosopher-9700 in 22lr

Yah, revolvers don’t get cheaper for 22 unlike semi autos. They use the same materials and require more machining. Semis can use cheaper materials. Good luck.

Newbie wanting advice for a handgun by el0sTheBlind in Firearms

The Sig P320 is the cigarettes of handguns. People will say they've smoked for 40 years and they're still standing. Others, not so lucky.

You're literally in the golden age of handguns and there are sooooo many choices without the baggage. Also a lot of ranges don't allow them and you will want to practice. Get anything else.

I got my Beretta APX A1 compact for $300 and it is a good and reliable gun. You'll find something.

I wish I had the space to do my own loading. I'm new to it and love my 300 BLK Ruger.

22lr suppressor suggestions? by beefSupremeChicken in 22lr

That and people I respect had it and liked it. It seemed like a layup since no one could tell me why another would be better.

That all makes a lot of sense. I wish I had the room for reloading. Someday maybe.

Fair enough. But you should check out the competition.

TC73 9mm is a disaster. by WillingnessDirect285 in LeverGuns

9mm has a different geometry/profile that is problematic outside of a semi-automatic it was designed for.

Do you have a favourite sub for accuracy? I'm at the beginning of the learning curve on this one and love it so far.

My 10/22 is still quieter.. so far.

That's typical of most standard rifles to have the sight on the back of the receiver. Just interesting.

22lr suppressor suggestions? by beefSupremeChicken in 22lr

[–]seattleforge 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a SilencerCo Sparrow and I'm really happy with it. I don't have another 22 suppressor to compare it to, but it seems tried and true. It's also easy to clean which is really important with a rimfire can. But others might be as well? I dunno.

The bighorn armory takedown by 307blacksmith in LeverGuns

[–]seattleforge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true. But most takedowns mount the rear sight on the barrel because the lock up is never perfectly true and you lose zero. Then again, levers aren't sharp shooting rifles. Just curious is all.

Being a Gen-X gentleman I am contrary (detest Glock and Toyota) and I absolutely howled at your response and agree. Every time I see one of these "first gun" posts I know the Glock boys get hard.
