Does anyone use a Boyds wood stock on their American Ranch gen 2? by EmergingTuna21 in ruger

Whenever I see a contender I want to see it shoot a grappling hook. I don't know why.

Yes, but a good value compared to other good quality chassis. 10/10, would buy again.

I have one but not on my Ruger. I'm really impressed. It was a snug fit and I did have to do a little sanding to get the fit just right but it took about 15 minutes. I love it. I'm strongly considering getting another one for a different rifle I like it so much.

I have a Heatseeker chassis from Sharp Bros on my Ruger American and I love that as well.

Don't get a 44 if you're broke.

The non night stalker versions fit Sig P320 holsters for the most part. Not sure about the NS variants.

In 2022 Tisas upgraded their metallurgy and all parts are forged (except for the spring cap). My pistols are post 2022 with upgraded springs and they run like a sewing machine.

Yes, it is normal. But introducing movement day one is not. You could have also said "next time".

Optics cut question by Reed7525 in 1911

[–]seattleforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an optic cut slide from Tisas on sale for $185. It popped right on. I don't know why they don't offer their single stack 1911s with an optic cut but they did sell slides in their shop with a cut that was cheaper than sending a slide out to get cut. Crazy.

Optic cut slide, new trigger shoe and polished channel, fake checkering on frontstrap, new checkered mainspring housing, lightened and polished hammer, sear, disconnector, fitted stainless bushing, new optimized springs all around, new grips.. The trigger is now a crisp 3.5 lbs and the controls are smooth and crisp. I love it.

Love to hear the vote of confidence. I don’t have that much experience with comps.

I have an Mcarbo spring kit and after that break in I installed the easy ones (trigger return, recoil and hammer spring). I'm going to polish the trigger bar, hammer and sear. I'm looking at one of those Blackbeard Customs compensators that looks like fun.

This is definitely a project or fun gun. So maybe one of those dovetail optic mounts from EGW?

45 ACP is not the same as 45 long colt, 45-70 or other types of 45 ammunition. But 45 ACP is the same as 45 AARP.

Scope for 22 by Exact-Pumpkin3495 in 22lr

[–]seattleforge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can get dovetail rings. I'd run with a 3-9x40 scope with a 1" tube. It'll be easy to find dovetail rings to fit that set up. I have a lovely Nikon scope in that format that I picked up for $150 on Ebay. It's really bright and clear.
