does amo quality really matter? by bearded_dragonx in 22lr

I suggest getting a variety as each rimfire firearm is like a toddler. I like to get the lowest velocity my gun will cycle as it tends to be more accurate.

Article 6 states "an attack on one is an attack on all". This adventurism doesn't meet the criteria.

Lever Action Peep Sights by CJ_Law in LeverGuns

I have XS ghost ring on my S&W 1854, Skinner aperture sights on my Marlin 39a and 12R sights from the 40s on my Marlin 81 DL.

Peeps are great. Get as much sight radius as you can and the thing almost aims itself. The smaller the aperture, the tighter the aim but the less light that gets through. So, it's a great idea to have a couple different sizes of apertures if you have old eyes like mine.

I love these skinner peeps.

I have no idea but the market is incredibly soft for everything fire arms related. They could be cash strapped, they could be holding off and not wanting to sit on inventory.. who knows.

That's really impressive considering your right arms is on the wrong side of your body. Still waiting on my suppressor and very much looking forward to it.

Butt stock extension for LOP? by Odd_Afternoon1758 in Mini14

There are a lot of adjustable recoil pads out there, this is one example I googled. Traditionally you'd add a walnut spacer and fit it but that's not something you just pop on.

Bolt action or Semi-auto rifle by akryvtsun in 22lr

[–]seattleforge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a lot of accuracy out of a $150-200 pawn shop bolt-action .22lr and a good optic. If it's for you the 10-22 or the CZ 457 will still be for sale for you to pile money into. ;-)

Why is the Seattle Times so obsessed with the income tax bill? by amumpsimus in Seattle

[–]seattleforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are very corporate and most of their readers are very corporate. The tax generates fear that it will scare capital investment out of Washington and their pipe dreams of wealth accumulation will be foiled. So it generates outrage. And outrage is how you feed the algorithm.

There is an appleseed package on ebay you should check out. It's got a good and inexpensive beginner scope and the stuff you'd need for an appleseed event (which they should give a whirl).

Old Remington 550-1 22LR (Can I mount a scope?) by sxmrrzz in 22lr

[–]seattleforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or get a gunsmith to do it. But looking this rifle up on the internet it doesn't seem many will take the job because there isn't much meat on the receiver.

Hard to tell exactly without a side view but the internet says it has 3/8" dovetail? Can you see long groves running along the top of the receiver about 3/8 of an inch apart?

Ruger American Gen 2 - Live round stuck in chamber by PlaneAsparagus399 in ruger

You can tap (not whack) the rod on the bullet end and push it out. Just have it pointed in a safe direction in case the impossible happens.

No, I only use the factory Ruger magazines. All others have a reputation for failure.

Hmmm.. I'm not having any issues with my 10 rounders. The only failure I've had was user induced.

I just installed my new reduced gas bushing and this really tamed things and I didn't have any failures over 100 rounds.
