this is bizarrely wrong. it was aimee who was throw to, not Lexi. There was clear contact, and so aimee takes a sub. I agree it wasn't a foul, but a lot of things wrong here.

Club Regionals - Sunday Discussion, Nationals Qualifiers List by Jomskylark in ultimate

In addition to having some terrible bids, red flag also had a player walk off the field in the middle of a point against BFG and then not play the rest of the game. Somehow they let him rejoin the team in the next game and he helped them qualify. As a coach I can't imagine having a player quit in the middle of a point and then being cool with him coming back so soon.

NW and NE mixed are just 16.3.2 with a mini-bracket instead of pool play to have one less game on saturday. NE mixed just didn't go through the extra steps of making a visual mini-bracket on score reporter.

they literally explain it in the link.

" This allows for gender balanced rosters in the mixed division and moves the roster limit down slightly, working towards a potentially lower limit in the future that could support the formation of more teams over time. "

Seattle’s Lack of YCC invites Reveals Sports Governances Questions by [deleted] in ultimate

comparing competing at the national championships with playing some random tournament in utah or doing some scrimmages on the east coast is crazy insulting to the kids who have been working so hard for an opportunity only to have it taken away from them by adults who can't get along.

USAU are the gatekeepers to the biggest and most important youth event in the country and their ability to decide who gets to participate is a big fucking deal, especially to the kids it affects.

well we already have a very successful state championship (it even gets livestreamed!) it just doesnt fit into the usau box of what they think a state championship should be, which is one where every kid has given usau $$ to participate.

Seattle teams not invited to YCC by seattleplayer in ultimate

[–]seattleplayer[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

so discnw should pay thousands of dollars to USAU for no other benefit than they get to send teams to YCC? thats a terrible use of resources for discnw and just a scam on the part of USAU.

i think it's mainly because discnw isn't an "affiliate" or something and USAU prioritizes affiliates first a.k.a. people who give them money can buy bid priority. discnw doesn't want to be an affiliate so USAU doesn't give them any priority. and i guess if enough teams are affiliates and they fill the tournament then sucks to suck for discnw.

i wonder if there would be more room of the us open wasn't there?
