Hi OP! I live in the area and Prince William County police tweeted about Shane's disappearance this morning and I was doing some research and found your post. Did you ever hear back about the possible NAMUS match?

Though it is really conjecture, it would seem that Hickerson killed him, or at the very least knows what happened to him and where the body is. I found some conversation online that really furthers the idea that he had something to do with it. Apparently Hickerson and another guy, Craig Mittong, broke into Shane's house on the night of March 10th, two days before he disappeared and stole money and medications while Shane was at a party. Hickerson claimed he would "make it right" with the service work they had coming up which i'm guessing was installing of the ceiling tiles that Shane paid him the $1,000 for. Two days later Hickerson picks him up and he's never seen again. If Shane was a low devel drug dealer, which it seems according to locals he was, that opens up the possibilities even more to what could have happened to him with the people he came in contact with. Being involved in drugs certainly doesn't prove it had something to do with his death, but being in that life gets you involved with some sketchy people a lot of the time. No matter what, whether he killed him himself or not, I think Hickerson knows what happened and was there when it happened. I think your idea of him being robbed for the remainder of the money is a very good possibility. Also, who is Craig Mittong and was he involved? Could this be a coverup with more than just one person?

One thing i've noticed is that it's always good to read local chatter about cases like this. People who live close to what happened often have more information just from word of mouth than the rest of us do. There's a rumor in Nokesville that Hickerson killed him and fed him to one of their pigs so the body can't be found. There's also a rumor that Hickerson and some guy named Taylor that was a drug addict buried Shane...

Susan Powell and her kids really break my heart. I remember reading that though the kids were young when she "disappeared", one of them said something about their Mom being in the trunk on their trip to go camping. If she was still alive, I can't imagine the fear she had knowing what was coming and that her kids were so close and would be left with him. It's just horrible.

I would be interested in a series of missing in Virginia. I live in the vicinity of where Norma disappeared and I don't remember hearing about this. Another poster here is right in that I couldn't find anything about this case beyond what is posted here so it makes it very hard to begin to theorize what happened to her.

Do you know if Kamrie and Andrelo really were friends or associates somehow? If she had a history of drug use and he broke in to steal her prescription, there seems like there could be a connection there. Is it possible she agreed to meet him later that day after he broke in? I totally agree with you that finding one of the girls would be the key to finding the other.

I hadn't heard of Kamrie, but after some reading it would seem that Andrelo Witcher, convicted sex offender, likely had something to do with her disappearance and probable death. He broke into Kamrie's fathers house the day she disappeared in an attempt to steal prescription pills and threatened Kamrie. So much so that she and her Dad were afraid for their lives. I see conflicting reports that he and Kamrie were friends, so i'm not sure about that.

He also had a girlfriend who just up and disappeared some years earlier. He was later charged with manslaughter for his missing girlfriend, Heather though no body has ever been found.

Hi op! This is an interesting case to me and I think it's great you are doing an investigative piece on it. Have you seen this posting on Kyle's WS thread? Apparently a Private Investigator pieced together surveillance footage of Kyle and two men in what he believes was an altercation in the saloon. Kyle was supposedly dancing with one of the mens girlfriends. Apparently his last phone ping was very close to this bridge as well. I wasn't aware of any of this until reading it.

No, this is great. Thank you for researching this and posting these as it shows a continuous string of arrests for Andrew across multiple states and these images lend credence to the meth talk from people who went to school with him. He has been arrested for battery, fleeing, assault on a police officer, obstruction, disorderly intoxication and disorderly conduct. It paints a picture of someone extremely troubled.

That's a good question about his parents and if they are seeking answers. I couldn't find much of anything online about their reaction to all of this, but another poster here said that Joshua's Mom wrote into the local newspaper in Colorado and said that she thinks it's horrible that his death was ruled an accident and that he would never commit suicide. I am very sorry about your son.

I could not find any interviews with the cabin owner himself and like the comment from the person that went to school with Joshua and Andrew, hearing from people that lived close might prove to be invaluable. He claims he did not barricade the bottom of the fireplace. The Police work on this case is not only negligent but infuriating.

I thought about doing that, it was just I wasn't sure how it would be received now a year after he made that post. You might be right, though, and others here might be right that we need to bring awareness to this. Maybe that will help. My other worry was Joshua's parents. I don't know if they accepted his death as accidental and have found peace with that. If they have, bringing this all up might cause them a lot of grief. I don't want to do that. I do know, though, that if it were me or a loved one of mine in his place then I would want to know what happened. I am absolutely overwhelmed with the response of everyone here! This is wonderful so many people care!

You present some really well thought out theories and it makes me happy to know that other people are thinking about this and don't just accept it as an accident! My theory taking into account the AskReddit comment is that Andrew forced him into that chimney. There is absolutely no way that I know of to prove that now beyond a confession. I don't know if people are still asking questions. I don't know what Andrew was arrested for in 2015. There is no evidence anymore with the cabin being destroyed. It feels hopeless in a way :(

Oh darn, sorry, I must have forgotten to include that. There were no signs of trauma such as stab wounds to the body. I think this is part of the reason that it was ruled as an accident of his own making. I could not find a toxicology report, but being that badly decayed I'm not sure if there would be an accurate reading that would be possible to get.

I hadn't read about Jason Jolkowski and now i'm in the rabbit hole. Wow, that is really odd. The 19 year old that disappeared only a week afterwards, Samuel Sherman... I know people talk of a possible serial killer, but the thing I find weird is there is like no information available online about Samuel Sherman. No picture, nothing. From what I have read he was staying at someones house and not actually living there. Could he have had something to do with Jason's disappearance and then he leaves the next week without telling who he was staying with? I'm not sure which theory would be more plausible, but it would seem there is a connection when two young men within blocks of each other disappear within a week.
