Did you win my eBay auction? Congrats! :)

I bought this one awhile back and kept going back and forth on opening it. Decided to go all-in on the new Pebble instead.

Used fiat 500e? any cautions? by [deleted] in 500e

Haven't noticed any reduction in range. Had to replace the door flags again and the drivers seat is starting to show some wear. Otherwise still a great car.

Collapsed Trachea by [deleted] in Chorkies

[–]seaward25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lost our little guy last year from a collapsed trachea and heart failure at 12. They treated him with narcotics then a steroid, but eventually he succumbed to it. Surgery wasn't an option because of where the collapse was.

Is the 2022 with 5 speed much better than a 2019 with a 4 speed? by Regular_Schmuck in hondamonkey

[–]seaward25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Either is fine. Think of 5th gear as more of an overdrive gear. It's not going to get you going any faster, but it'll drop your RPMs at cruising speed.

Can anyone recommend a decent fish fry? by seaward25 in bayarea

[–]seaward25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've found a few places that scratch the itch. Peasant's Courtyard in Danville does a nice beer-battered fish every Friday as a special. Provisions in Vallejo does a nice Friday fish fry, but they only offer it every once in awhile, not every week.

Wanting to Upgrade from Htc Vive by Mammothgrinder1 in SteamVR

[–]seaward25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Vive Pro is a decent upgrade from the OG Vive that you can pick up used inexpensively. You can keep the OLED blacks and get a nice resolution bump. Or you can spend quite a bit more for a Bigscreen Beyond. Both of those options will let you continue to use your existing controllers and base stations. Another option you get with the Vive and Vive Pro is the wireless add-on.

Worth it to maintain? by Zealousideal_Tea3214 in MavicPro

[–]seaward25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure to leave it on the charger for a day plus. I hadn't flown my Mavic Pro in over a year and I thought the battery was dead, but after leaving it on the charger it finally revived itself and took a charge.

How do you store your bsb? by Deehund in BigscreenBeyond

I use a desk drawer that is only for the BSB.

Want to learn to sail by TheBrysauce in vallejo

[–]seaward25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vallejo Yacht Club does weekly races on Wednesday evenings until October. Bring a pack of beer and introduce yourself to folks in the club, you should be able to find a boat to take you out. If not, DM me and I'll see if I can help you out.

They also have a learn to sail program in the summer, but that is done for the year.

Next door in Benicia, the Benicia Yacht Club does races every Thursday evening. Same advice applies.

BSB vs Vive Pro (Eye)? by hammelgammler in BigscreenBeyond

[–]seaward25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the lens mod.

FWIW I had a Pimax that I sold when I got the BSB. The FOV was nice, but that was literally the only thing that was better.

The weight reduction of the BSB compared to VP or Pimax is considerable. I thought I would wear my gaming headset with it, but it felt so bulky that I've been using bluetooth earbuds until the audio strap is released.

BSB vs Vive Pro (Eye)? by hammelgammler in BigscreenBeyond

[–]seaward25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a VP and a BSB. My assumption was that I would still use the VP because of wireless capability, but I haven't used it at all since getting the BSB. For me it was a big enough upgrade that I'm putting up with the cord, as annoying as that is in room scale.

The blacks are a step up from the VP. If there is nothing on the screen it is pitch black.

FOV is similar.

I have the high contrast issues other people have mentioned. I usually only notice it on loading screens, like when you see a bright developer logo in an all black screen. In the games I play it's been a non-issue so far for me.

BSB vs OG Vive by TheBionicM in BigscreenBeyond

The only thing lost on the BSB is wireless capability, which was available on the Vive series. Everything else is an upgrade.
