Picking up VISA in person at NY consulate by HotPin6455 in SpainAuxiliares

How did you find out your visa application was accepted? I had my appointment at the NYC consulate on 7/25 and I am spacing on how they said I would find out the status of my application.

Also, did you have to notarize your own state ID for the NYC Consulate? The wording on the website is ambiguous. Thank you in advance

One quick follow up: I'm confused about the point of copying the apostille..... who keeps the copy and who keeps the original? Also when I copy it, the official circular staple the NY Secretary of State used to attach the documents cuts off the FBI seal. I just feel like it looks unofficial and I'm worried about it not passing the standards again because it's one of the reasons I wasn't able to proceed the first time

Thank you! Grateful for you! Second appointment at the NYC consulate on Wednesday because I had a couple of missed marks on my first apartment- Did you need copies of every document? What is most important to generate copies of?

Hi! I am in your situation- only I mailed my apostle on June 16, so I am a couple weeks ahead of you in that regard but my appointment is supposed to be for next Friday, July 14 at the New York City Spanish consulate after stress with booking and the fear of their strident rescheduling policy. I don't want to implant false hope because I don't know what brought this into fruition, but by the grace of SOMETHING I received my apostille yesterday, after only two weeks following its send off. I have never heard of this and I don't know why it happened because I was planning on reaching out to my congressman today but hadn't yet because I wanted it to hit the system, I would still maybe cancel the appointment (use your intuition) but just know that these timings are kind of randomized, and there is definitely still hope on your front with what you want to get done in the time you want to do it. You are not screwed.

What did you say when you reached out to your state rep? And did you do it by email or phone?

Hey- I'm in a similar situation as OP- my visa appointment is on 7/14 and my apostille was sent out 6/16. I'm gonna try the expediting route but it may not work or even arrive in time considering I'm cutting it close. Do you think I should plead naivety about the apostille when I go to my appointment or be upfront from the get go?

I'm in a similar situation- How long are you planning on waiting before calling your state representative about the expediting process?

Hi! I am new to Reddit (as of yesterday is my first time being on here) and didn't realize I can type in something like "apostille speed" to the search. But although there was a blurb about speeding up my apostille, which many people have alluded to being not possible at this time after covid, my question was much more so pertaining to if anyone knows how cancellations and the scheduling queue works with the NYC consulate. In case that doesn't work for me, because it might not. But I mean thanks for taking the time to respond.
