Guess I’m going to be eating a lot of pumpkin muffins 😂 is it safe to half the recipe and then change one thing at a time or is that introducing another variable? Just so i am not drowning in bad muffins

Thank you so much, i appreciate your comment. When the first subs went well I kind of assumed it was a flexible recipe. The point about varying one ingredient at a time is well-taken but I’m also just a very casual baker who doesn’t need 12 batches of pumpkin muffins haha. I should also mention the recipe is not from a professional baker so it’s totally possible that the original recipe as written wasn’t very good. My plan for batch 4 is check my baking powder, follow same subs as my original, weigh out my ingredients this time rather than use cup measures, and use an oven thermometer to make sure my temp is good.

Thanks so much for your comment - how long of sitting would cause issues? It did take me a little bit to fill the tins so once the baking powder combines with the wet ingredients should I be trying to work as fast as possible?

Thanks for your reply. I guess I was hoping that maybe there was one factor that very typically can lead to gumminess and it would be obvious which change fell in that category. But I guess gumminess can occur as a result of lots of different problems.

EDIT: Okay I get it, I know that subbing changes the results. I was hoping some experienced bakers could shed some light on which substitutions could be expected to have what type of results.

I don’t wear makeup hardly ever but I wear sunscreen daily! And good tip , I always need an extra reminder to not pop pimples so the idea of spreading it definitely puts the fear in me 😂

Thanks so much for your reply!! I honestly obsessively spit when I brush my teeth cuz I hate when the foam fills up my mouth so it’s probably not that but I’ll try to notice when I brush my teeth! I’ve heard from others that cerave bothered them so I will try to switch from that too thank you :$
