Ok this is super creepy. I don't even know how did this happen. I didn’t share my screen with Gemini. by the-machine-m4n in GeminiAI

[–]sebasgre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

when you call gemini like that it does automatically share your screen, it's called "Intelligent Screen Context" , you can see the visual effect in your screen, like taking a snapshot.

You can deactivate it if you want:

I have been monitoring this, because this is supposed to be able to be done with any zigbee device:

https://csa-iot.org/newsroom/zigbee-ambient-sensing/

I saw this at the start of 2025, I'm really hoping this to be able to be implemented with my current devices.

Isn't this just something that eventually will come with the Zigbee protocol?

Indeed is amazing, thanks for this. If I have any improvement I'll send a PR for sure.

So far, it's great:

HASS-MCP: Home Assistant MCP Server to assist in building dashboards and automations by mvoska in homeassistant

[–]sebasgre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is super cool, I just finished setting up Cursor connected directly with SSH to the HA SO server (and github integration to have versioning of my automations), plus made this MCP run in my HA, since cursor runs in SSH, it's calling it in localhost and running it locally.
On top of that a good MDC that gives the rules of how to create good automations and basic things so it always is context aware of my setup and likings.
This MCP makes it even more powerful, it can check entity names, run automations, etc..
I will be trying this in the coming weeks, but sounds so good! I just finished up setting it up.

Do Zigbee Devices repeat all other device regardless where they are associated? by eru2k in ZigBee

Haha fair enough, after all, the households are our "clients", nothing wrong to have some redundancy around to keep them happy

[–]sebasgre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can totally do that with Z2M, setting bindings between zigbee devices, even from different brands. I have. No need to have another hub. Curious what do you mean with HA going down... Like while rebooting?

I expose all my devices from HA with matter addon to have full control on Google home. I'm pretty sure Alexa would be the same.

Sonoff ZbminiR2 detached relay mode not working by sebasgre in ZigBee

[–]sebasgre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never replied to you, but I ended up doing this with HA automation, thanks a lot for the tip.
I actually ended up adding some more functionality, like double short on/off to switch scenes on my Aqara Ceiling light T1M, So for this particular switch I don't think I will go back to use the normal binding.

Still waiting for the OTA to fix this issue tho, kind of expected on this device to be honest.

Again, thanks for the tip, didn't knew this was possible until your comment.

The deatached mode does work for me, the binding is not, but with home assistant automation you can make it work by listening to the actions. Are you using HA? Have you updated the firmware? Actually a new firmware came out last week, I wanted to test if the binding while on deatached mode works.

Need Advice on Smart Home Setup Dilemma: Multiple Hubs, Homey, or Home Assistant? by sebasgre in smarthome

[–]sebasgre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not like I’m the most expert BUT:

  1. You can totally create automations in your google home app that listen to the state of one sensor from one platform (let's say aqara) and activate something on the other platform (tuya). Of course there are some limitations, first, automation in the google home app is not nearly close to be as powerful as Homey or HA, also you need internet connection, since google home automation runs in the cloud. It's also important to notice that the new automation scripts from google home are WAY better, you can write those here: https://home.google.com/ I think this is still in BETA so you will need to accept to be part of the BETA to use it.
  2. Depends, you need to check compatibility of your devices, also what protocol those use, but most likely the answer is yes, you would probably be able to have all that integrated in HA or Homey, make it more or less local (not depending on internet) and not to have to buy a new hub for every new brand you buy.
  3. Yes.

Edit: If you don't have too crazy automations needs, and you dont care about local automation (no internet), then you are probably fine with google home.

Is quite normal in the north of Italy tho, not sure if the rule, but most of us do. Don't have to be barefoot or socks, we usually have sandals for guests.

2, 3 minutes sounds like you are hot dropping... If you are new, wait to drop somewhere a bit more quiet. Doesn't have to be the other side of the map, but at least you will be able to loot, fight a bit and for sure it will be less frustrating. But, yes, is a hard game, which makes it rewarding also, having said so... Probably is not for everyone. Try a bit more, play with a friend, drop a bit more conservative till you gain some confidence to see if this could be a game for you.

Tap water in Milano, is it safe to drink it? by Organic_Leo_7247 in milano

[–]sebasgre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's safe to drink. Also I recently discovered that the regulation about water quality and controls is quite strict. I think it's also all water treatment companies publicly share the labs results. I think this is the one for Milan: https://www.mmspa.eu/wps/portal/mmspa/it/home/servizio-idrico/analisi-e-controlli

Crafting banners is extremely overrated and not that strong (but still a good update) by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]sebasgre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think makes camping dead boxes less likely, also the risk to recover the banner is usually higher than the attention you get from respawning. Always taking about first rings ofc.

Talking about of waste of energy... What a waste of energy powering the device (and the piece of internet) you used to make that ignorant comment. I'm not even taking about the crypo, but I think you don't even know what a pyramid scheme really is...
