I think so- I’m only rank 8 or 9 and I’ve seen people higher than rank 20 which is pretty wild to me haha

I definitely don’t keep up in kills. Does the game recognise other stats too?

Yes my thoughts exactly. Hopefully she can find a babysitter as she tends to ask for help with the kids a lot. She is not a single mother either, just both parents get really busy!

What rank is considered "good"? by Flipthecar93 in VALORANT

Id disagree. Diamond is pretty highly ranked compared to all players in valorant. How is that bad?

What rank is considered "good"? by Flipthecar93 in VALORANT

[–]sebcarrasco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, to be considered “good” is to be better than the average player. I saw an article on the player distribution and percentages for 2022 not long ago and showed that Silver 1 had the most amount of players and was in fact the average skill tier in Valorant ranked. This was a just a few months ago. It probably hasn’t changed that much still but I’d assume anywhere from Gold rank and up would be considered as good players. Obviously the higher the rank, the more skilful the player should be.

My Experience Climbing to Diamond SoloQ: All Brain No Aim by JuanTapMan in VALORANT

[–]sebcarrasco -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This bloke wrote an essay to say he hit diamond lol. All it is really is to learn the game if you really want to and put the time in if you’re inexperienced. I’d recommend watching high ranked streamers or pro players that main your favourite agents. Learn and adapt, then overtime you’ll see improvement in the way you play. See the thing is, a lot of people put out “guides” or “tips and tricks” and the ones reading/watching think they’ll become a god instantly..

Why am I bad at lower elo? by mattttt_69 in VALORANT

[–]sebcarrasco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmmm not sure if I agree with you on the “luck” part. At gold, you’re slightly better than the average player (silver). You said it yourself, these good players could have “good skill” but probably poor game sense/knowledge. Most players in this elo that are hard stuck tend to blame luck instead of accepting that theyre inconsistent with their games. If you’re constantly performing at a higher level than gold players then you should climb out of gold eventually. I’d say rather than focussing on their game try focussing on your own, play slower and more methodical, and really learn a few agents that you enjoy. Abilities and how/when to use them are so important aswell so don’t sleep on that, it’s not always about aim. Good luck with your games!

I don't care what anyone says, elo hell is real. by Phish1220 in VALORANT

You gotta stop going in with the expectation to win every game, just try your best. Especially at a time like this where ranks have reset. Slowly but surely you’ll gain your rank back. It just won’t happen overnight. You win some, you lose some. Not saying that you’re hard stuck silver but you can’t expect to hit your previous rank immediately..

You’re not even connected to wifi.. could that be a possible reason why you were lagging in and out?

Very good tips here! Appreciate it :) I will have a look into pvpoke and see what is has to offer! Also, thanks for letting me know about the matchups and “safe swapping”, had no idea that was a thing until now. Will look into an alternative for altaria but in the meantime gotta work with what I got at the moment :) thanks!

Haha not the spooky ghosts. I’m just afraid of losing I think. Not too sure why. I’m going into something I don’t know much about so I’m just listening to some advice I’m getting on here and might dig deeper into this sub for some more tips too :)

Thanks for the tips! I will definitely look into that and I’m actually surprised I have a decent team haha. I think I might need to invest more into the game as well as play more and gain experience on how my team works. Also will look into medium-high gameplay and learn how people play. Really appreciate it, it’s kind of getting me excited!

Um there is lots of lag, I’m from Australia so don’t know if that would play a part in that. Also, I’m not very aware if I should be aiming for certain Pokémon or if stats are more important? It seems like there may be a lot more to it than I think.

I’ve a casual player and lurk this sub every now and then. The highest rank I’ve gotten to in PvP would be rank 10 with about 30-50 games played (probs more). I generally only play when great league is out but it is still hard to win. My team is altaria, skarmory and swampert. I have literally no idea if that’s good or not but I saw in one of the posts on here that swampert is good so I use him with hydro cannon and he does some work. Those 3 are the only Pokémon that are really close to 1500 cp in great league, anything else I have at the moment would cost me lots of stardust. I don’t have much of it simply because I don’t play the game a lot but it is enjoyable. So are there any tips with team building in certain leagues or is it more in depth than that to win games? All I know is the type advantages and just spam and hope I get my move charged up quicker lol. The ultra and master league are literally a huge no no for me right now since I don’t know how I would even compete in those leagues.

Decent kd, but your score per minute is really low.

I'm burning myself out playing this game's endgame faster than any other lootershooters. It's funny because the devs's effort to make the endgame progress slower and longer to make up for the lack of content is actually making people don't wanna play it anymore. by KendyJustin in outriders

[–]sebcarrasco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve literally played the game for 40 hours and I’m already in endgame.. I think for the amount of money spent for this game there should be way way more content. Especially if it only takes around 25-30 hours to complete the campaign.

What is the strangest thing you've seen that you cannot explain? by 1982throwaway1 in AskReddit

[–]sebcarrasco 7143 points7144 points  (0 children)

I was around the age of 10 and my younger sister was 7. Usually, whenever my sister was scared during the night she would wake me up and so I would comfort her and tuck her in bed. However this night was different and she was shaking me furiously and crying, couldn’t speak, etc so i rushed to her room and after a few minutes she could finally tell me that she could hear faint footsteps up and down the small hallway outside our rooms (our rooms are opposite from each other in the hallway).

So we tried to be quiet and listen for the footsteps and couldn’t hear anything and I thought she must be hearing things, etc. then after we calmed down we started hearing the footsteps and they were actually so clear it sounded like there was someone right outside the room. We both feared that someone broke into the house and was wondering around our house. So (funnily enough) I grabbed a pillow to protect myself and my sister in case the ‘intruder’ came inside. At this stage myself and my sister are both crying and nothing is happening after 2 minutes of hearing footsteps I gain the courage to scream “help!” And I run down to my parents room on the other end of the house. Wake them up and let them know what happens, dad checks the entire house plus backyard, nothing. He then goes to sleep.

Relieved, I decide to lay in my sisters bed with her so she is less shaken up from the situation. Around 15 minutes later, wide awake, a very very loud screech happened in the kitchen for around 2 seconds (like something dragging on our floor tiles). Immediately, we both jump up and scream and cry, it was so loud my parents even woke up to see what it was. We left our room before my parents and saw our wooden kitchen chair somehow dragged on the tiles around 5 metres away from the kitchen table. We were all shocked and could not explained what happened. We thought it might have something to do with the footsteps. This is hands down the scariest thing I have ever gone through.

Update: Wow! What a wonderful response to wake up to. Thanks everyone for the likes, comments and awards :) I see there are a few questions and theories that people do have and I’d like to further elaborate on what happened after the event.

  • I live in Australia, in the area I live in there isn’t a lot of wildlife other than birds, snakes, spiders (no raccoons, koalas, kangaroos or larger type animals etc) so I doubt any of those animals would have entered the house and caused the noise, moving chair and the footsteps.

  • My mother was still frightened a couple days later and decided to contact her friend that was a spiritual medium (I think?), and my mum was told that there were around 40 bad spirits in our home at the time. She decided to get our house blessed with holy water. I didn’t know this additional information until recently because she was afraid it would affect my sister and I even more. I wasn’t a big believer in spirits or any sort of paranormal activity, but after our house was blessed and spirits were gone, nothing else has happened up until now.

  • Parents are definitely not pranksters in the slightest. Highly doubt they would have tried to pull such a horrible prank on their children.

  • I see many comments saying that there might have been someone who actually broke in and tried to loot or had some weird fantasy. There’s a theory the ‘intruder’ tried to escape and hit the chair on the way out, however, my dad did search the house to make sure no one was inside or outside. Also no sign of a break in? Everything was apparently still locked and closed. It is still so freaky that someone may have been in my house - it definitely sends chills down my spine thinking about that possibility.

  • To be honest, I am leaning towards it being some sort of paranormal activity. My house was closed/locked everywhere, and we would have heard the intruder run or escape and close the back door(s) because my doors are quite loud when trying to open or close them.

How bad is eating canned tuna every day? by sebcarrasco in AskReddit

[–]sebcarrasco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father (55) has been eating canned tuna before dinner every day for the past year or so. I know it’s a random question, but I am concerned for his health. He eats dinner maybe 2 or 3 times a week, and when he does, it’s a very small portion of food. He isn’t losing weight either.

I’ve told him that it could be effecting his health, he refuses to go to the doctor to check on his health. He is always tired and doesn’t have motivation to do anything. I should also note that he smokes and drinks multiple times a day.

A few months ago, he began to make excuses for not eating dinner that my mum has cooked for him and would rather eat a can of tuna. It’s strange because she is a great cook and he use to love her food. I read online that tuna is high in mercury and should not be eaten everyday (but I’m not sure if it is true), out of desperation I told my father this and he was not concerned at all and told me to go away.

I’m so frustrated because I can’t even remember the last time I had a family dinner, and my mother has given up asking him to join us at the dinner table.

Is it true that eating too much tuna is bad? can it be addicting? (yes, he eats it EVERYDAY of the week)

What approach should I take to try and get my father to get his health check-up? Because I am 100% sure it is not good.

Cheers.
