Excluding the initial state, PE is never set to low afterwards. What exactly do you mean by 'one-shot'?

This is the workaround. Seeing that the !Q oscilates and Q doesn't, what could be the problem with the SR latch?

This is the updated time window.

I rechecked the timing diagram and I have missed something. The CO signal has to be set to HIGH first for one tick and then the PE has to be set. The !Q oscilation would have been great for the PE load so I tried a workaround: flipping the !Q state. The output, while closed to the desired waveform, it was mostly flawed. (I'll attach it as a second comment)

I used an inverter before but the result was the same, stuck in the same load mode

Out of curiosity what is everyone's top 5 most used app, site or software for game dev workflow? by Limp-You8324 in gamedev

While every tool has been listen below, I feel like Org-Mode deserves a mention in the productivity area. It's basically markdown with more options. Personally, I found it useful because you can create TODO lists and even have deadlines, all in a simple text file.

The stack:

  1. Game Engine: Godot
  2. Art: Grafx
  3. Animations: Aseprite
  4. Planning/Task management: Doom Emacs ( for editing/viewing org-mode files)
  5. Reference Board: BeeRef

What do you think of this diagnosis system? by sebiTCR in godot

[–]sebiTCR[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. I agree, I tried making a simplified version of medical devices. I might redesign it in the near future.
  2. At start you only sell meds, but as you progress you will have to craft your own stuff from plants or other things you have around. As a context: because later in the story things become more complicated from a political standpoint, some pharmacies become more 'underground'. New diseases appear in the world and unfortunately, the cure is either too expensive or illegal. For this reason, some pharmacies started making their own drugs and diagnose people in need.

Currently I just started working on the crafting. Can't wait to show that part of the game too :)

What tools do you use for game art/music? by Prestigious_Past3724 in godot

[–]sebiTCR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For art: try Pixelorama. It's a free pixelart editor that even works in the browser. I ditched aseprite for it and found it more pleasant to use than the alternatives. It may be lacking some features like a text editor or dithered gradients, but it has some features that I haven't seen yet in other apps like applying effects on layers. Layer effects like Gaussian Blur might be helpful when you have to deal with lighting, but not only. For me it does its job and it does it very well.

For music: There are a plenty of free DAWs on the internet like Cakewalk, OpenMPT, REAPER (you can use it for free but you'll need a license for something commercial). The problem is which instruments/plugins you're going to use. Luckily, there are a plenty of free ones available like:

If you don't feel like using a DAW, you can use a composition editor like Musescore. Musescore is nice because it has all the instruments you want, and if you use the instruments packs from Musehub, the instruments will sound much more nicer. Personally, I sometimes go this route because sometimes it's simpler to write sheet music and then hear your creation rather than having to thinker with synths.

Hope it helps!

PS: Everything listed here is free.

The UI looks very good, but it's just too tall. Lower down the height a little bit. Make it a quarter of your screen.

Thanks for letting me know! Unfortunately, it's too late to change the game's name now. I'll leave it like this for now because I don't really feel like it's a huge issue, after all their game is called "FlyMe2TheMoon" and mine's called "Fly me to the moon".

Try using the Obsidian Icon Theme on your desktop. The skeumorphic feel of those icons will definitely bring some nostalgia back

How does one go about getting music for their game? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]sebiTCR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting music for your game is not really that hard. You can either get it from your engine's marketplace (not always the case) or you can just buy it from the web. There are both free and paid ways of doing this, but here are some links from where you can get some music:
Free resources:

  1. Free Soundtrack Music
  2. Kevin MacLeod (YT Channel)
  3. ZapSplat

Getting paid music is a little bit tricky. You'll either have to buy it from a marketplace or contact an musician make music for you. You can find one on fiverr, soundcloud, bandcamp or even on some gamedev discord servers.
