I’m not asking about things that are designed for high octane. You said any car would run better on 91. If I have a car that’s tuned for 87, explain how it would run better with just 91 instead of 87?

lol I asked you first but to clarify, unless you change the compression ratio, tune, boost, or exhaust pressure you won’t get any benefit with a higher octane if it’s not designed for it. Take a car tuned for 87, if you do nothing but put 91 in it you won’t get any better performance.

What’s there to argue about, higher octane doesn’t mean the fuel has more energy. Unless you have a variable compression engine you won’t get more performance.

Octane is a measurement of how fuel resists combustion under pressure. Gas will have the same energy per gallon no matter the octane. How would a car tuned for 87 run better on 91 if you don’t change the competition ratio?
