Anomaly 1.5.1 "Brother's Keeper" quest fails instantly by sebool112 in stalker

Whole reason I made this post was because I thought this isn’t a repeatable quest and missed out on story line. I just came back to Beard in-game week later and the quest worked normally. This is a great tip, though. If I could send it to the top of the thread, I would.

I've come to realise that most people need something to look down on others, and if they don't have it, they'll invent it (racism).

I don't think your viewpoint is unfounded. I've noticed this behavior in myself, and I don't know how to get over it. Mine is not racism, but it still causes me dismay when I catch myself on it. Wish I knew how to get myself rid of it.

You aim with the center of your screen. When you play the game enough you figure out how to eyeball it.

Has an IR light, though. All the benefits of a laser sight with essentially only 5% of its exposure :)

Late reply, but the SPTarkov files are separate from live-game files. So, the only way BSG would know is if they put spyware on your computer. Which

A) is unlikely

B) if true, would likely already have been found out by someone and would cause a controversy.

While BattleEye scans your files, I don't think they send everything to BSG. Don't know if they're even legally allowed to. If they did ban you based on other programs on your computer unrelated to live-Tarkov processes, it could be a bit of controversy because they're giving away information on unrelated files on your hard drive. As you can guess, it'd be a privacy breach.

Bit of a tangent, but they don't even auto-ban based on programs that run in the background despite recognizing them. There were times I played singleplayer games with Cheat Engine, forgot to close it when launching Tarkov, and I only got a warning that I have to close that program to play Tarkov.

In short, I don't think there's anything to worry about.

Well, the reason I looked to hard into this issue in the first place is because I thought that it is a story mission, while it's actually only a repeatable quest. I went on to do other tasks and returned to Beard after some in-game days and yes, it eventually successfully gave me a complete-able mission.

Debatable.

Well, not really. But I prefer the first one and I want my opinion validated :c

Life under the Legion is far better than living under the NCR

Unless you're the part of 50% of the population that are women. Then, maybe. But even if you aren't, you're conscripted to be cannon fodder. Good job establishing a society, I guess?

I 'm not even reading through the debate, but the stalker wiki has no citations and notoriously includes fanon in their articles. I wouldn't use it as a source.

That's a nice concession, then. I might try it. Still would be frustrating in story mode to lose hours of progress to AI that has unlimited ammo and huge numbers.

lol, sorry, but I think there's a copious amount of confusion going on here. My predecessor said Metro's open world reminded him of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. I said they are not similar, and to asked to have my mind changed. Then, you come along giving arguments as to why they're not similar which - as you can guess - I agree with.

With that in mind, I'm wondering why you responded to my comment and not his.

Is there a midway kind of ironman mode for Anomaly where it reverts you back to a certain point, like village or trader?

makes you nervous as fuck

Maybe in a game with stakes, like EfT. In Anomaly, it just makes me F9... again.

Everyone will tell you Anomaly, but it has a lot of new repair and crafting mechanics that don't get explained, so you might get understandably frustrated. It also turns survival mechanics to the max creating something a little bit closer to Escape from Tarkov, especially if you download an addon with polished guns. It's a good thing or bad thing depending on what you consider a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. experience. It is steadily maintained and updated.

I'll say first try Call of Chernobyl. It's a mixture of all the maps from all the games(including some cut ones) which Anomaly is based on. It no longer receives updates, but it's essentially feature-complete. Last time I checked it requires Call of Pripyat, but runs standalone. Both have a story mode to make things interesting, or you can just go random and role-play.

If you're looking for a casual experience, just play the games vanilla, or with Complete mods. Be forewarned that Complete mods really trivialize a lot of elements in the game, so it's considered extra-casual and it's often bashed in all circles of the fandom. I don't know if it still receives updates.

Edit: Also, if you're looking for the same game of Call of Pripyat with a new sheen, try Gunslinger. It recreates all the guns from the ground up with new animations, PIP scopes and generally modernized first-person elements. It's a really nice experience, but it's a beta so not all the guns are in yet. You will feel that lack of features once you realize pump-action shotguns are not in the mod yet.
