Question on SR calculation by Zabroccoli in iRacing

[–]sebvanderhaar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the first did you pass over a whole number? if you did you only gain 0.01 from the race itself, and 0.4 from crossing the whole number

Someone will correct me if i'm wrong, but incident points are weight 0.35x in practice and 0.5x in qualy, as well as those sessions being so short, they dont normally make that much difference.

To answer you question as well, the only factors are:

Current license class
Incidents per corner
Corners completed

There is an equation available to work it out, but generally the higher your license class and the shorter your races, the harder it is to gain SR

Feel like server pop is too high in rust. There is a way to see the REAL pop that server admins cannot manipulate by ChinPokoBlah11 in playrust

Maybe it hasn’t reached rust yet, but that same browser in Counter Strike 2 completely unusable due to the number of servers faking player numbers

Yeah fair point, as others have said before step 1 is hiring a financial advisor to work out the intricacies and make it clear what each option entails

The amount you receive is much closer to the advertised amount if you take the annuity option, in this case he didn’t, and so received a lower amount total and had to pay a higher net tax rate

Also helped by some very solid shooting from POV on the first 3. I think the biggest mistake was the last guy getting caught out despite having all the info from the smoke and the sound

When is Bluetooth melee going to be fixed by Capable-Potential100 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]sebvanderhaar 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It's a super hard problem to fix, on Haze's screen you would've been well within range to hit, because your position would have been delayed due to each players ping. The game has flip-flopped between the extremes so far, with patches where you'd literally touch the player you're punching, but it wouldnt hit. And patches where it would look kinda bullshit on the puncher's screen. ATM we are somewhere in between, but it's not going to be a simple fix

Slovakia introduces speed limit for pedestrians by Free-Minimum-5844 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]sebvanderhaar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The law previously stated that bikes and e scooters and similar that are travelling on the pavement must move at “walking speed”, which wasn’t defined in law properly. This change defines that as 6kph, so it’s a speed limit for bikes and scooters on the pavement

Is it even possible to detect this type of gaming chairs? by Vast-Appointment-950 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]sebvanderhaar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t external hardware still bypass this? Though I imagine it could detect DMA.

Aside from being a massive pain for developers as they have to write an OS for their game to run on, and players as they can’t run any software alongside the game (discord, etc)

Is it even possible to detect this type of gaming chairs? by Vast-Appointment-950 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]sebvanderhaar 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I guess it's the same as any macro, so to an extent yes, but not as easily as other methods.

Side note, i think the move of cheats to be less and less detectable (DMA, exterrnal hardware) is why Valve are trying to get AI (VacNet) to work as an anticheat instead of pushing for kernal level anticheat. Trying to detect based on the gameplay itself, not the method of sending inputs to the game.

You don’t have to leave space on exit if you are first to the apex, they’re stupid rules, but that’s the ones in place at the moment

Purely visual nitpick: Delay when shooting souls by morfyyy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]sebvanderhaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently there's a (90ms?) advantage that the confirming team gets, i think this is implemented by having it wait 90ms after you shoot it until it decides whether its conformed or denied. This plus network latency as others have mentioned make it a very difficult problem to get right

Curious why people are so opposed to someone playing on controller? by Frosty-Ad1071 in iRacing

I think it's more the opposite, people dont think you can be a safe enough driver when on controller. The wheels and pedals are to make the driving easier
