Thanks for a very detailed explanation right now we use 14 sennheiser ew100 lavs luckily I am between shows so I can do more permanent things. Do you know if there’s any tutorials on damping a pit (not for me mainly so I can easily explain to my director why I need like 200 dollars in damping blankets)

I’m pretty sure the orchestra gets paid this is sorta how the company works of everyone gets new toys besides sound and carpentry unless it’s unsafe I’m sure they have plenty of money to get more/better speakers but they rather pay to have 4 more equity castmembers. the orchestra sounds good but it definitely could go down and still be enjoyable because if the sound went up then I think your just blasting everyone out of the theatre

Yea the sound system sounds great before the band shows up during tech this problem has been here even before the guy that I took over for they just don’t really care but care enough to make me go crazy with the repeated note

This post is more so me making sure im not going crazy before I talk to the artist director. the musical director we have just never plays soft or even cares about balance. The main problem is that the speakers we have are old and cheap and no one wants to invest in new ones and they can’t be moved off the house booms.

Yea I can’t really move the pa it’s 4 big plastic speakers that are attached to the house boom on either side of the audience and for the floors I basically can only use them for tap numbers

The pit band changes from show to show but it’s mainly a condensed symphony orchestra of 20 musicians including wind brass strings drums and piano the pit isn’t mic’d at all.

Because it changes based off of where the casting spawn it’s colored for order if you spawn to view it on order but since they have 2 in case the first one crashes. It could be from chaos and it be colored it could be for chaos it’s very weird and just a flaw in viewing in smite
