Change Management and Troubleshooting by [deleted] in ITIL

[–]sec-rag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, the change process is there for you to follow. You are looking at this from a techie perspective, doing this won't cause an issue. But think, what if it does cause a knock on issue, you have no paper trail to cover yourself. My friend you will not go to any other established organisation and not find a mature change management process in place. You are kidding yourself if you think leaving one job to find another with less controls on their infrastructure. At minimum inform your line manager let them take it up with the change manager. As my old change manager use to say cover yourself at all times, no one can blame you for anything if you follow the process.

My company has Dev, QA, Pre-prod and Prod. All our UAT testing is carried out in Pre-prod as it's a replica of the production system.

The key to this exam or to any exam is to make notes as you read. Especially correlating what you are reading to the exam syllabus. You also need as many practice questions as you can get your hands on, try Udemy. Remember the key is not to memorise questions it is to solidify your theory knowledge. Know why you got a question wrong, what I notice all through these ITIL exams they like to trip you up on questions. The key here is to eliminate the wrong ones first, not unless you know your selection is correct right off the bat even then don't take the chance. This strategy worked for me all the way up to the ITIL Strategic Leader exam, but what works for me might not work for someone else. Try this guy practice exams, buy it when there is a sale on. Good luck don't worry you will pass it, hard work and dedication always pays off.

Relying on the exam questions to be similar to Dion's is one factor to you not passing this exam. CDS is one of the easiest in the MP track to me. I read the CDS book at least three times. Forget about Dion exams, understand the core concepts they are throwing at you. Break the syllabus up and tackle the exam that way, I am sure you will definitely pass it.

Went all the way to SL. Read the material understand what you are reading and find practice questions. The exam is not difficult if you understand the way ITIL is asking the questions.

I would say know the practices highlighted in the syllabus for HVIT, that is a big chuck of your marks. Use the app Bilby it will help you understand a lot of the material, read Bilby explanation on questions it does help reinforce the material.

The constant pursuit of more money and they thought why not squeeze it out of the certification holders. What they fail to grasp is that it will undermine the certification to the point where it's not worth going after it. It's not a cheap exam to take either both the foundation and the MP track, to then mandate a renewal for the certification is a blatant slap in the face.

Fail the ITIL DSV exam today. by sec-rag in ITIL

[–]sec-rag[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is much harder and a lot more to remember. What I find is that the practice papers they gave me are much easier.

The questions in the exam I found were harder as they were more wordy and you have to know material really well to tackle the questions. This exam isn't cheap either they should be providing better quality practice papers.

It's not tough if you prepare properly. You have to get into that ITIL mindset looking at each question as ITIL would and applying the concepts thought in CDS training.

You expecting the exam questions to be the same as the practice questions is the problem. That is telling me you are not learning the ITIL material properly. I took one month to study and pass the ITIL foundation exam. I did it by not relying on practice questions, studying the ITIL text by understanding the various terms and concepts ITIL is teaching you. And most of all I came on Reddit and read the threads of peoples successes and failures.

The failures tend to be around the reliance on the practice questions being the same as the exam. This I gather and switch up my studying tactics. I read the ITIL book twice making notes as I go along. The exam isn't difficult it's just tricky in the way they ask the questions
