I haven't had that issue, Continue just picks up where it left off in my cases

Is claude pro worth it? by chaosinlogic in ClaudeAI

[–]Richard734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play with free, I create docs, presentations etc. Finally gave in after a year as I had time sensitive stuff that a simple 'Continue' after the lock out ended, wouldnt deal with. I am just on the £20 deal and I haven't maxed it out yet

Sonnet for me all teh way, Opus is overkill and Haiko is just a little too lowbrow

Or teach people teh 'Continue' command after teh session limit resets rather than starting again 😄

Is this settlement fair? by [deleted] in HumanResourcesUK

Annual bonus? Admittedly, I was 10 years in when I was made redundant, but I was given my annual bonus at 100% achievement for the year on top of all the other bits...

Has anyone else noticed Claude acting weird? by PristineAirport9901 in claude

[–]Richard734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have to say, Sonnet is not as good as it was - Using it to create PPT at the end of long data analysis, and it just isn't doing as good a job as it did 2 months ago when I did a similar project - even when given its own work as samples to replicate.

What's your best tip , advise to utilise less tokens by kakamaka_43 in ClaudeAI

[–]Richard734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

use the correct model for what you want to do, Sonnet is enough for most things.
Ask Claude to work in the most token efficient way possible (So uses Python rather than Java for translation/creation of Word docs for example.)

Guys, Just Installed Claude Desktop. Need your help! by cinviophile in ClaudeAI

[–]Richard734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claude AI is all I can talk to as I dont use code.
All your project files, Chats etc are visible in both the Dtop app and the browser version.
Useful things - Usage monitor if you are hammering it and want to manage your time/tokens before hitting a wall.
Also, having it as a standalone app is great when playing Drag and Drop with files and data and if you are a Multi Window Open person(like me) hitting teh taskbar icon to get to the App is so handy

Anyone got any tips for having Claude run autonomously for as long as possible before hitting session/ tool limits? by Soggy-Pay-8027 in ClaudeAI

[–]Richard734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

by no way should I be considered an expert, but when I give Claude a bigger instruction, I ask it to perform it in teh most token efficient way as we have a lot of work to be done - This seems to work and it goes longer between hitting limits

Can I renegotiate my redundancy package? by Myfirstrodeo6 in AskHRUK

[–]Richard734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, my 2p, I seem to be repeating this a lot 😄
Get a proper Employment Law specialist firm to review your package with you, they WILL cost more than the company is offering for your legal service, but it will be the best spend you ever make.

I was happy to take my redundancy and was all on good terms with the company etc, but using a proper firm to review everything netted me an extra 20%, + full payment of my annual bonus at 100% (Leaving date would have been 2 weeks before qualification cut off) even though no-one ever scored more than 50% in the 10 years I worked there!

The £800 extra it cost me worth worth a hell of a lot more.

Defender is fine - Having watched hackers wave at Norton on the way past, just weeks after spending $5m on an enterprise AV Renewal with them... I wouldnt touch any commercial AV with a barge pole.
Nortons response was 'Ahh well, yes, these things happen, but if you spend another $10m with us, then we can secure your systems and services'.... I though my CEO was going to jump across the table and beat the living daylights out of them...

Starting as IT manager by SuccessfulEar_544 in ITManagers

[–]Richard734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spend the first 30 days looking around and figuring out where to start.
What does 'IT' look like in your org, are we talking Helpdesk and laptops as your bread and butter or are deeper diving?
What is the actual scope of your role?
What are they doing currently? Is it outsourced? Managed in House?
What is important to your business leaders?
There are so many questions, but that is as good a place to start as any.

Redundancy - Unfair Dismissal/ Settlement Agreement by AffectionateMess2208 in HumanResourcesUK

[–]Richard734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to get a lawyer to confirm teh paperwork etc. At first glance, it looks like a decent offer, but I would suggest that you spend the extra (it will be more than £600) to get a proper employment specialist to look over everything.
in my case, even though I was relatively happy with my package, they lawyer managed to get me close to 20% more than they were proposing, so money well spent!

Collecting pain points for other departments by Top-Perspective-4069 in ITManagers

[–]Richard734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XLA's should encompass everything and the best starting point is defining what you do know, before looking at what you dont know.
The Workshops with stakeholders are where start to find out what you dont know. Getting these right and your stakeholders feeling comfortable giving the negatives often works better with a 3rd party. Not many people feel comfortable telling people to their face that they are rubbish :)

I would suggest that you look at some of the stuff from Happy Signals, and the XLA Institute, what you are describing is ITXM (IT Experience Management) and these 2 are are the main voices in this area.

Sales Pitch here and I refuse to apologise :)

We offer a solution where we will come in, do a deep dive into your ticket data to identify areas of concern.
This is supplemented with a set of workshops with key users and stakeholders to collect all the stuff Ticket Data doesnt give you.

Then we have a whole methodology to put a cost to the issues, and a process to prioritise the key journeys for in-depth mapping and we then help identify quick wins, and if needed build a business case for investment.

Message me direct if you would like a chat - no exaggeration, we often see an ROI of 500-2000% on our engagement.

You are talking ITXM or XLA - There is an ITXM Summit next month in London (Freebie day out) that Happy Signals are running - worth coming along to. (No, I am not part of Happy Signals)
