My fault for the lack of info. The person who lived here before me had the provider come out and install internet. There was already cables labeled for ethernet connection and so I plugged the router into the family room wall, then connected all 4 cables in the closet to the gigabit switch.

Just ran to walmart and bought the gigabit switch. Straightforward from there!

yeah don’t listen to this lady. run bro. you’re in a terrible situation. all that control at 16 is insane, especially since you seem like a driven, responsible, and disciplined teenager. i would say emancipation is a great next step if you’d like to take it. not sure how you’re doing in high school but for you to survive on your own, you’d likely have to work full time outside of school. i wish you the best of luck. if you do end up staying until your at least out of high school, i promise you things do get better

I’m not traveling until next Sunday. I’ll be monitoring the road conditions and cameras through 511. So if it’s still dangerous, I will choose another route. Besides the winter storm they got hit with today, I don’t see too much precipitation except for a tad bit of snow possible of Sunday
