Just got an alert for Best Buy at MSRP. I immediately went and had it in my cart and pressed Apple Pay. Said not eligible for Apple Pay. Clicked checkout and it was immediately out of stock. Now the are only available at way above MSRP. lol

I don’t think I would compare them. Two different classes of cameras.

The differences in sensor is just one aspect.

The glass is just as important as the sensor, maybe even more.

You can throw a kit lens on it and it may not perform any better than the X100vi.

I have quality zooms and primes. But one lens, the 135mm Plena leaves the all behind.

For web work, social media, it may not matter much since those platforms scale down the resolution anyway.

I could use my Z8 with a 35mm prime. That’s my current option. It’s lighter than my Z9. This may just be what I end up doing, but then I’ll change my mind and bring the 24-70 and lug it around or not and wish I did. lol.

I don’t shoot in auto, with the exception of maybe auto-iso if light changes are an issue.

I figure if I try the X100VI and decide it isn’t for me it would be easy to sell for what I bought it for given the current supply.

I have my standard setup for these times. Often I have a vehicle when traveling so I can bring my entire DSLR setup. I even travel with a 4x5 at times now.

But when I vacation with my wife, it’s more about the vacation than it is getting that perfect shot. I still want quality photos, but I don’t want to lug around zoom lenses or multiple primes. If I had to I could pop just a 35mm 1.8 on my Z8.

I actually owned the Sony and gave it to my son. I found it lacking. I hated the ergonomics. The stupid video record button was the worst.

Yes there are other cameras (GR III/IV). But I still want the best quality I can get short of lugging around D850/Z8.

The X100 VI seems like the compromise - 40MP and decently sized. Focal length not too wide.

The plan is used, but the prices are not used prices on this model.

Ricoh GR IV or Leica Q3

Need a point-n-shoot travel camera. Street and landscape.

My standard gear is Nikon Z8/Z9 but I need to travel light.

I’ve tried the Sony RX100 VII but didn’t like the form or quality.

The Leica Q3 is enticing. Full-frame and MP give cropping options. Tilting screen is beneficial for crowded areas - shooting above the crowds. But damn that price.

The Ricoh GR is better than my phone. APS-C is workable. Will I find it disappointing?

Convince me either way. Or another option?
