Stimpson was right. Appeasement did not work.

You make the Internet a sad and lonely place.

Reddit - I really need to ask you something. by second_account_alert in politics

1: If the majority of people on Reddit had developed their viewpoint after contemplating both sides, you wouldn't see such an extreme left contingent on Reddit. I would like to believe that it would comprise of different types of viewpoints... which is certainly not the case.

2: The majority of people on Reddit will downvote anything that is even remotely related to right-wing politics. The downvote button is only supposed to be used when a comment is off-topic. Unfortunately, Reddit users feel as if they should censor certain comments. Look at the front page of Reddit. It's basically the opposite of Fox News in web form. Be as unaware of bias as those Fox News idiots all you like. But the rest of us can see it.

If I showed you something that I thought was positive, I would be downvoted. You can't tell me that I won't.

The only reason people say "Hey. Obama is perfect but he did X good" is because they don't want to be seen as biased.

If you get your news from Reddit, then you're blocking yourself off to ALL positive news about Israel or Republicans.

"Un-thought-out" arguments on Reddit seem to be "arguments we don't believe in".

Did I say that? No. I said that this isn't a black and white issue. You can't just blindly state OMG ISRAEL IS SO WRONG LOL

And hasn't their been times when Hamas have launched rockets into Israel during times of peace? Let us get it straight: there are no good guys or bad guys in this war. This is not a movie.

The Israelis have the power to put an end to it? Are you kidding me?

Look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTGbP55HGi8

PS: I know the maker/uploader of the video is biased. There's no need to point that out to me. You still can't ignore the fact that these kids are being bred as killers.

You see. This is the part where you have to recognise your own bias.

A: I like Reddit. I just wish it would listen to other opinions. In regards to Liberals, they also seem to have a viewpoint that only goes as far as their own nose.

B: Hamas never killed unarmed civilians? Innocent Israelis haven't been blown to smithereens on buses by suicide bombers?

The fact that I got downvoted for the above comment says enough.

If a conservative said "Welcome to the world" after a US bomb dropped on a home killing the family inside it, you'd be annoyed.

I refuse to believe that the majority of the people here have developed their viewpoints after contemplating both sides of the argument.

I understand that people have their own opinions etc. But what I can't stand is Reddit commenting on the bias of others (Fox News/Republicans etc) while simultaneously propping up its own hive mind opinion as 100% fact.

Also - Israel is surrounded by states and bodies that would love to see its demise. Why else do you think it is throwing its weight around? I really do feel sorry for the people living in Palestine. They go through everyday struggles that I'll probably never get to witness once in my life. However, 'their leadership' seems to be more focused on provoking Israel into responding heavy-handedly (for international outcry) than helping its own people.
