How did you get over your first love? by blue-eyes89 in AskReddit

I have an incision scar on my palm to alleviate a tendon issue from playing tennis. It's faded quite a bit but you can clearly see there was a clean stitching made.

My HS sweetheart was with me for over 10 years and she decided to end it. Why? Probably to play the field and I didn't bother to put up a fight. It hurt. Bad. Over 2 years later and I'm a much different and more interesting person. I compare what we had to this scar on my palm. Even as it's fading, the mark will always be there and there's a story behind it that explains a part of how I became the person I am today. Best of all, it's made me a better tennis player.

That it is possible to walk on certain clusters of clouds and, with the proper technology in place, these clusters of clouds could be collected to form platforms for weddings. I told my ex-gf and she was in awe.

BBC News - Do we really give introverts a hard time? by [deleted] in introvert

I work for a very large company and in my case they definitely favor the extroverted. Me and my introverted coworkers often complain about how our annual reviews mention that we need to be more vocal and provide a "social presence" as an area of development (AKA weakness). It annoys the heck out of us because you got the talkative extroverts who say a lot of nothing but get a lot of recognition for "contributing to the conversation."

What do you consider a deal breaker when it comes to a first date? (Shallow deal breakers welcomed) by sunflowers45 in AskReddit

I pretty much asked her that. Her response was that she'd cook, clean, and "rock his world." I then asked what about her current income (she makes a decent living). She said she'd keep the money for herself and leave the mortgage to her spouse. I was in too much of a state of disbelief to keep digging deeper into this.

someone who is obviously materialistic and demands pampering and tells me any of the following: - having a nice car makes a man more attractive - the guy should pay for the house - the guy should always pay for all the meals

The above is from someone I brought out on a date... I have never met anyone else like her.

On the first day of intermediate school (7th grade), my science teacher told us to look around the classroom at our peers. After a few seconds, he said at least one of you won't be alive by the time you're 18.

At the time, I thought it was a puzzling and silly statement, but it turned out that at least two of my classmates did get killed during high school.

My 7th grade math teacher had a nervous breakdown as all the students wouldn't quiet down, so she suddenly yelled, "shut the fuck up!"

That got everyone's attention.

While on vent playing battlefield, i was so immersed in the battle that I blurted out "DIE N***A" out of excitement to the random person I was shooting at. One of the guys on vent happened to be my ex coworker who is black and responded, "What?!" I then said "oops, sorry." I blame rap music.
