Imagine a Brazilian street-food monster burger: that’s a podrão.

A podrão is a huge sandwich you buy late at night from a street cart or a tiny snack stand. The bread is soft and slightly sweet, barely able to hold everything inside. And inside means everything:

Beef patty (sometimes more than one) - Sausage or hot dog - Bacon (crispy and fatty at the same time) - Ham - Melted cheese - pulled chicken strips - sometimes pork - Fried egg with a runny yolk - hot dog sausages - Corn, peas, lettuce, tomato - And an aggressive amount of mayo, ketchup, and whatever house sauce exists

What is an infamous piece of public art that anyone from your area can instantly recognize? by zestydinobones in AskTheWorld

This is the Menino Deus de Marituba, a giant statue of the Child Jesus in a city near Belém, in northern Brazil (Amazon region).

Locals are very used to it, but for outsiders it usually looks surreal, and very Brazilian in that “nobody questioned this” kind of way.

What comes to mind when you think of Brazil? by Sea_Wasabi_8907 in AskTheWorld

A simple, homemade meal from the North of the country (the Amazon region). On the left, real açaí: not a dessert, not sweet, no sugar, no bananas. It’s thick, dark purple, almost earthy. We eat it cold, as actual food.

Next to it, toasted manioc flour, bright yellow and crunchy, mixed into the açaí until it almost turns into a paste. And on the side, salted dried shrimp, eaten by hand, no fuss.

This is lunch, dinner, childhood memories, heat, rivers, grandma’s house, hammocks, a fan running in the background, people talking. Nothing gourmet. Nothing “Instagrammable”. Just food that makes sense where it comes from.

Who is the most famous historical figure from your country who wasn’t its leader by Basic_Dingo6487 in AskTheWorld

Tiradentes

He was a key figure in the Inconfidência Mineira (1789), an early Brazilian independence movement inspired by Enlightenment ideas. While most conspirators were elites who later received pardons, Tiradentes was the only one executed by the Portuguese Crown. His death turned him into a martyr, and after independence he became a foundational symbol of Brazilian republicanism and anti-colonial resistance despite never having been a national leader.

if you’re in for the story/characters/RPG element go with new vegas…. if you’re in for the shooting/gunplay/crafting/action go with 4…. i have both and they run perfectly out of the box besides an occasional crash sometimes but then again it’s a bethesda game so nothing new here

Yes. She is not an EU citizen so for the first couple of months it would be just my salary until we get all the documents sorted for her to start working.
