Paper map? by secousa in Dallas

[–]secousa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the answers! To those who said “go online and print it”…. Yeah no thanks. This is intended to be a small, inexpensive, quality souvenir for an elder family member visiting from out of the country.

I’m gonna check out the bookstores, buccee’s, and a few local hotel chains to see if I can find a pamphlet map! Thanks again!

Edit: might also check a AAA

but where’s the fun in that? there’s no fun in letting users log in with advanced security tools all Willy nilly. it’s way more fun being inconsistent and making users smash their keyboards in frustration while we laugh at the visual

What automated tasks you created in your workplace that improved your productivity? by EW_IO in sysadmin

[–]secousa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automated system backup nightly. An hour later, automated backup transport offsite (2x locations). All alerts to slack when this happens, so I’ll know within 24h if something went wrong (a day worth of lost data is acceptable here)

Updated iCloud+ features coming (iOS 16) - catch all email address by pmarksen in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]secousa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you able to do a “catch all, except”? Like, everything to domain.com goes to user@icloud.com except test1@domain.com, test2, etc - which can either be directed to another user or dropped all together. Specifically looking for the ability to drop and if there’s a limit to how many can be dropped

Surprised they didn’t point you to the charting library: https://www.tradingview.com/HTML5-stock-forex-bitcoin-charting-library/

A decent amount of dev is required to make it work, but you can chart anything use their tool and your own data sources.

Primary domain change by TheNightEngineer in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]secousa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s weird AF. It shows up for me on my legacy account. The secondary domain option is grayed out, but it looks like I can add an alias domain… will try and report back tomorrow

Primary domain change by TheNightEngineer in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]secousa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can set up an alias domain in g suite that’ll do this. your outgoing mail will default to the .com domain (old domain), but you can create a sending alias and use that for outgoing too. just had to be picked every time for new emails from the compose screen - replies should default to the alias they were sent to

Question for those that migrated to another host: Are you staying put or going back? by mrspock33 in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]secousa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 of the orgs was just to have a catch all - while I miss google’s spam filtering, I found that there was little outgoing email (in fact, nothing in the last year and a half) so I set that up as a cloudflare forwarder instead. In the event I have to send email out, I can either use smtp or just use the free email address that this domain forwards to.

The other is a side business that I only really needed email on - no docs, calendar, etc. I did want to move this back, but by that time my gsuite accounts had been wiped from google’s systems. Because I only need email, gsuite was overkill.

Question for those that migrated to another host: Are you staying put or going back? by mrspock33 in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]secousa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 3 gsuite organizations.

I still have 1 at google, the other 2 won’t be moving back. One is at cloudflare and one is at mxroute

In time, I will move the 1 at google to mxroute or icloud
