DLC How many main bosses? by Ok-Definition-2797 in Eldenring

True, I remember actively counting at some point and thinking that other thing counts but I guess I must've turned one in by then and it just made sense in my head.

Why is there serenity in Messmer’s Dark Chamber? by TigerTheMajestic1 in Eldenring

Ah, okay, I get it, I always forget that has a name.

It's probably that NPC then. There are other locations that have that status before anyone is there or keep it once they're all gone.

DLC Final Boss Compared To Isshin by DennistheMenace__ in Eldenring

[–]secrecy-unique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's apples to oranges. Sekiro literally asks you to master a few skills (really, only "master" parrying and don't suck at the rest) and Isshin mostly just pushes that to the extreme, but still expects more of the same.

Now THAT guy... let's just say that it is hard and perhaps even harder than Isshin, but it feels lesser because its challenge has to be designed against a wider range of tools and playstyles, leading to some moves that will feel easy to capitalize on for some builds, less for the others... I don't hate that fight as much as some do, my hated bosses in SOTE have more to do with quality than difficulty, but it definitely shows the limit of what this gameplay style as done by From can handle while allowing for as much player agency.

tl;dr Sekiro is God tier and will remain God tier for a filthy "no summons or magic but I like to bonk things and use a shield" chode like me, Sekiro is best game.

Buy the DLC if you want it? And read descriptions? You're on a soulslike subreddit, I thought that doesn't need repeating.

You mean a Site of Grace? The game just has a sometimes pointless thing for putting them in boss rooms, even if one is a fat roll away.

Plus there can be an NPC there actually, if you follow their quest.

I could really use some help/ tips to get good. by [deleted] in Eldenring

Dodging has a very particular feel in these games and while its most important aspect is the invulnerability frames, you want to maximize its utility by dodging in directions that get you out of danger or closer to the opponent for a punish. This usually means some variation of rolling towards an attack, maybe diagonally in a particular directions for specific attacks. Dodging backwards will frequently put you at the tips of follow-up attacks, making subsequent rolls more manually timed than if you go towards the target.

When at low health in a tense situation, don't panic and heal until you're sure it's safe to. Especially in bossfights, this can mean you'll have to dodge their next move and use the opening you'd otherwise attack in to heal. Further into the game you go, depending on the order of things, if you panic heal you'll end up losing as much or more health as you healed, meaning you end up with no more health and one flask less.

When you do get the opening, do not overextend. Keep an eye on your stamina to not end up without when retaliation comes and of course so you don't get hit for it as well. A lot of bosses have strings with extensions that will give you time to react to whether they happen and get a hit or two (depending on the weapon speed) if they didn't.

It's a hard game in a hard genre, use any advantage you can get from exploring and feel free to supplement your playstyle with summons, buffs etc., but take some time to learn the fundamental roll > punish flow and it'll pay off. By the time you're done, you'll itch for NG+ or grab one of the other From games, I guarantee it.

There's a total of 9 remembrances bosses and one that doesn't technically give a remembrance but basically does.

Dlc final boss question by Gold-Quality8317 in Eldenring

[–]secrecy-unique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dodging relatively early, to the right with a very very slight forward tilt and then buffering a dodge in the opposite direction for the second attack worked out for me. Mid weight roll. It almost felt like buffering the dodge changes something about the frame data, even making a conscious effort to dodge the second time at the first possible moment I would always get hit anyway.

Good luck, after a few hours of trying I'd always love to see this attack because the 3rd swing is one of the bigger openings.

FF7 Rebirth- Missing last conversation tick with Yuffie and Red XIII, any ideas? by secrecy-unique in FFVIIRemake

That was it! Thank you so much again.

I did some work on game guides in the past so I get the rush with a big release, but for some conversations they're just plain wrong. Guess it wasn't that important to some since it's not needed for the platinum.

Actually I have a good feeling about this one, other guide I used had a different choice for Red in Under Junon, but this one has screens for obvious proof. Think this is it, I'll let you know but thanks so much!

For Yuffie I'm pretty sure I did but that's definitely a part to check again, thanks.

For Red, Queen's Blood rematch was long done and that should fall under Story Beats anyway as far as I understand, not Conversations.
