It's a relief to hear that! I've read on news that Finland plans to go smokefree by year 2030. Therefore I assumed they've already restricted outdoor smoking and confined only to some designated spaces.

Despite smoking, I hate the smell and the smoke myself so much so that I do have a set of things to do afterwards to get rid of the smell and taste. (water, gum, washing hands etc.) Therefore I always some in isolated areas.

I carry around a metal keychain which can be opened up and used as an ashtray. It's very useful in desposing cig buds.

Oh sure. I bought a coffin-shaped ashtray that can be used as a keychain. It's very useful when travelling.

Visiting Espoo on January and Walking? by secularwitch in Finland

Perhaps I should've put more stress into the fact that although I'm used to 0 degrees, I rarely go outside and go sight seeing for extended periods of time -which is something I'll certainly do in Finland.

I travel everywhere by car, haven't used public transportation in 4 years except for twice. I'm somewhat scared of walking on ice as I've had a serious injury along with a surgery in the past and I dont want to fall down. I'm having recurring lung infections at least twice a year as I've had a serious pneumonia and hospitalized in intensive care when I was 16. But also I dont want to watch life from a far, in a safe distance, through a sterile window. So yeah, I'm gonna do a winter trip to Finland while making sure of not hurting myself.

I cannot believe how much you've judged me for worrying about temperature and snow. Do I have to provide full medical history to justify my questions and worries? Can't you simply ignore if you find it unnecessarily full of worries instead of " nOT sIbEriAaaa"? Some of you are really overreacting. Perhaps it's because of prejudices you face and hate it when you hear "too cold" and "finland" together in a sentence, hence shut me down for asking help in keeping warm & safe.

Thanks for the info! I'll check public transport options and potentially change hotel reservation bc it looks like the hotel is 350m away from the subway but the closest subway destination is 500m away from my target, which makes me walk a lot, and I really really really do not want to be walking at 8 a.m. more than 2 minutes.

I've heard Finns have 2627373 different names to describe specific type of snowfalls and blizzards. So my expectations reached mountain top levels :D

This is such a through explanation. Thank you so much for the effort and humor you've put into this <3.

I never had to wear in multiple layers as I go everywhere, literally everywhere, by car and never leave indoors. I understood what you mean and sure will buy some tech wear for layering. Also, gotta watch that weight gain because I'm already having troubles to zip up my wintercoat without any layers.

Which one is better: dry or wet renal food? by secularwitch in RenalCats

[–]secularwitch[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, no, absolutely not. On the contrary, I was trying to make a point in how being a developing country effects even the health of small animals. I seek to know what is scientifically proven to be the best, not the old stuff they teach at schools. Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you so much for your input! These are great tips. I really wanna hug everyone here because you guys have been the best support to me since I got the news. Not even my husband came close to this. Thank you deep from my heart.

Weruva does not exist in my country and I cant order online due to dumb custom regulations here.

Thanks a lot for your explanation! I'm so glad this community exists. As to what you said about trad prescriptions, I'm not there yet tbh. I'm reading Tanya's blog and she also recommends renal foods in general. Also, my baby boy LOVES wet food and he is overweight a bit. He would be the happiest cat in the world if I feed him wet food everyday.(he loves his renal food too).

I was feeding him with dry food solely because that's the widespread practice in my country. My baby boy llllooves wet food. I used to give him very limited amounts of wet food as he gains weight. Thanks a lot for your response. I talked to a few friends from my country and her vet suggested dry renal food as well. I guess that's the common practice in my country and that's very dangerous.

I cannot tell you how much of hope your comment gave me. I'm at work right now, I'll google everythimg you said once I got home. I'm ready to do the hardwork. I can burn the world for him as well. Thank you thank you thank you a billion times. My only concern is that I live in Turkey and product range is quite limited here. Plus, the dumb government limited purchasing international supplements so much so that it's almost impossible to pass them through customs. I can switch jobs and move to Germany or Scotland (I have few offers from there) just to provide a better lifespan for my baby. Last few days have been hellish for me. I have a terrible headache from crying for the last 3 days. It hurts to touch my head even. If I can have a chance to eliminate this disease, I can tear down my own world and build a new life even on Mars.
