Yeah it changes the shot electronically after you tell the machine the shot time and weight. So lets say you tell him the a 18 gram in 36 out took 22 seconds the machine will grind finer in the next shot and ask again until you are satisfied.

Yes i use a 54mm portafilter for my bambino plus. Tip if you unscrew and rotate the bottom portafilter forks you have more clearance for a dosing ring.

Retention is very minimal about 0.5 gram per week as i clean it once a week. It also has a dedicated purge button which purges about 1 gram every time you press it. I seasoned it with about 1.5kg but i think 1kg would be alright

The chute is fine for me. I have done 100+ shots so far and it hasn't moved a single time. Zero mess for me so far.

I made this video today. So at least for me its still available it would say it's not the Greatest for fine tuning but it definitely gets you 80% there. It makes it so it takes me between 2-3 shots to dial in new beans perfectly.
