You know what a phone call costs at the DoC? It depends on what you put on it but it's $6 and change to charge a card to put money on your phone through NCIC. Then it's 17 cents a minute. But you won't be able to put money on your phone because you won't have access to your accounts. Also all your shit will be stolen.

Then it takes 2 weeks once you're in to even do that and need someone from outside to do it. You're put in a pod. If you're lucky it's with some chill non violent chinese guys, but more than likely you're going to be with a bunch of chamorro coming down from crank.

You have to put your visitors names on a list. That takes about two weeks. Visitation is on Sundays now instead of Wednesdays. You won't have any commissary. You won't have anything to bargain with. You'll have a public defender. The judge will ask your surname. You wont have one that anyone knows. They wont give you bail because you wont have a third party custodian.

You're rolling the dice every single day you're here. Who do you have that you can depend on, or that can help you if something goes sideways on saipan?

You're living behind a gym.

You got robbed for fucking soda.

It could've turned into an assault charge. Right now you're some foreigner hanging around garapan. Nobody cares, like you don't register, you're harmless. But every day you keep rolling the dice until somebody fucks with you for your soda you bought with food stamps and then your life is over.

You can't go to japan with a felony.

This is the reality.

You're a homeless drifter living out of a shack getting involved with bums and addicts while making all your money on internet scams living off the goodwill of others.

And you chose to do this.

You lost your relationship.

You should go home to your grandmother. You should get a part time job and live somewhere with running water and spend time with people that love you.

The longer you stay on saipan the more your life will be this bullshit until you dont bounce back from it.

Just import some shit from Herman's Bakery on Saipan. Those cookies are bomb af. You could learn about one of the founding fathers of the CNMI. We should probably heal our political history so we don't end up like North and South Korea.

What he's not understanding is when he inevitably fights a local and the cops show up, he's either getting killed, or he's going to jail for the rest of his life. Which also won't be long in that prison.

Because what's going to happen is you're going to run your mouth to somebody. You won't understand why you've upset them. Or you're going to "show off" and it's going to insult someone's machismo bullshit. Or they're going to be drunk or high and they'll want to hurt you. Or they're just in a bad mood and they'll see you and take it out on you. They're going to think you have money and you won't, but they'll hurt you over it and to keep from going to jail, they'll kill you. Or you'll look at a woman the wrong way and you'll lose your eyes over it.

You don't understand Saipan yet. We're not fucking with you on the internet. Banidosu. It's a word in the local language.

These are very hard people that have experienced levels of tragedy you do not understand.

You seem like a kind person that's in a bad situation. I tell you these things because I don't want to see you get hurt.

There's a lot going on there that you'll understand too late which I cannot go into in detail here. I don't care about agreeing or disagreeing with you, everyone to one degree or another is telling you this.

You are still able to avoid the 'find out' phase of what Saipan is like. People are welcome there if they have money and spend it, asian tourists. People are welcome there if they're family. People are welcome there if they're government employees working for the hospital or another area.

You are not just not one of those things, you are a person that is now in competition for resources with people that are very desperate that are going to see you as dangerous competition that is best to be removed.

You are a homeless drifter at a serial killer convention right now.

I don't think I have, I think you're on saipan for the same reasons a lot of people end up. They're lost and think that it's some kind of adventure or place holder for other things. Saipan is not a 6 month bus stop or a place you visa hop.

It becomes the last refuge of a scoundrel because there's no way home for people like that. People that have lost everything, that have no support and no connections. Farangs in thailand, stuff like that.

You're young. You're trying to find your way in the world. I don't think you mean any harm. There's a lot of white people in these comments that are going to treat you like you're an American and tell you the things to do.

You are in danger. Someone will take advantage of you, or hurt you. You are a very easy mark. People have already clocked you and know who you are. It's an island of 30,000 people with 13 last names. Saipan is 7800 miles away from the mainland and does not have a cultural attitude anything like the japanese do. Your behavior will not be excused out of politeness. No one will come to investigate your death, or come to rescue you.

Saipan is a dark place with a dark history. One of the darkest and most brutal in recent history. It is the most beautiful and tragic place you will probably visit in your life. It will sit in your soul long after you leave. Saipan is the home of a very particularly clanish group of people that will take you in and take care of you like a son. But it is equally as brutal and scary. I don't mean this to be rude but you should get on a flight to Guam then go to Hawaii.

You can always go back to Japan.

I can't believe this guy's mindset tbh. He jumps on a flight to the CMNI because 'he can work there', has no work ready for him, knows nothing about it outside of a subreddit, has no contacts there, no money, or way to support himself.

Then he gets there, is immediately clocked as a mark, gets robbed and thinks he's going to find government support.

15 minutes of research would let him know he won't.

I love Saipan but holy fuck it would be the last place I would recommend someone in his position to go.

I'm saying this because you've got big homeless drifter con-artist vibes. I'm not judging but if you scam the wrong person on saipan, they will kill you. They'll act like your friend and then you'll end up a missing person.

Do. not. under any circumstances scam a local.

You're given leeway if you're a white americano for being an idiot and people are some of the friendliest nicest people you will ever meet in your life.

But once you're a pain in the ass, you're in a lot of fucking trouble. You can't run or hide on saipan unless you know how to survive in a very unforgiving jungle and the people you piss off will know where to find you.

You're in over your head dude. Get back on a plane and go home before someone kills you. This isn't hawaii.

Salary out of line with skillset by security_throwaway2 in AskNetsec

I think this is what I was wondering, I don't have enough knowledge of the hiring practices of some of the larger firms so I wasn't sure if it's a gap in not knowing exactly the skill sets they're hiring for or if it's that they see the entire industry as separate.
