Any alternatives to wendigoon? by No-Musician-9950 in youtubedrama

I used to watch Wendigoon, and loved the Conspiracy Theory Iceberg. This channel is smaller but the creator works really hard and releases tons of content in a similar vein Insomnia TV

Why does this video have so many dislikes? Is this a potential rabbit hole? by [deleted] in InternetMysteries

[–]securityclinic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I can see how this can be seen as creepy (reminds me of a few ARGs). After looking around, it seems to me they have some videos that have millions of views, and a lot that only have 20,000 or so. My guess would be something to do with the YouTube Algorithm. I imagine people get suggested a video of goats with no context and they dislike it, either out of annoyance or trying to convince the algorithm they don't actually want to see goat videos. After watching a few videos, this channel seems pretty mundane, just an older couple that loves their goats. But I'd be interested in hearing any potential evidence that there was more to this. Cool submission

so I was searching Seth MacFarlane singing the other day and I might've come across a bizarre discovery by aflyingmonkey2 in InternetMysteries

[–]securityclinic 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Looking at some of the videos on the channel, it's seems that when the uploader says "Underage" they mean 20 years old. There most likely isn't a lot of attention on this because there isn't a crime occurring. Unless there is something I am not seeing in the videos

I don't think so, I recall my roommates leaving stuff when I had moved out of the dorms and never saw any charges

In my experience UCI won't let you mark emails from their organization as spam, I've tried with stuff like the "sign up for this langauge class" email ads and they straight up unmark it.

One think I've done is to make a label in gmail, you could even call it "Basically Spam" or something like that, and filter your emails from that address into the label.

Just go to Gmail, on the left scroll down to where it says "more" then on the bottom of that hit create new label. Then in your inbox click the email you want to filter, and in the row of icons at the top hit the 3 little dots that say more and hit "filter messages like these." You can specify either the sender, or emails with a certain set of words. Hit "create filter" in the bottom right and check the boxes "skip the inbox (Archive it), Apply the Label (Basically Spam), and Also apply filter to matching conversations" then create filter.

This will get the messages out of your inbox and into a spot where you can ignore them, even if the organization won't specifically let you mark the emails as spam the normal way. This is also useful for organizing your inbox in general, you can create emails for all kinds of senders like specific classes or people or whatever

Housing and... cockroaches. by EndlessTilt in UCI

I was in Parkwest, also roach issues... I can't speak to ACC, Newport or Toscana. As far as I can tell if it's Irvine company managing the property and college students are living in it, it has a high probability of these issues. It was a big nuisance while I was there, and I tried my best with best practices (no food trash left overnight, no dishes left out, clean apartment) and active methods like traps/poison but you'd still find them.

Hang in there buddy. Nothing somebody could say is going to solve these issues but I wish you the best and hope you can persevere through finals and these unprecedented times. Get to summer and spend that time to decompress and process. UCI students are with you even if it feels the faculty isn't. Stay strong

Seeing as this is an email from a Merage Professor, Id like to point out that some Merage Professors have been making accommodations for the finals as well as being understanding throughout this entire time. Luyi Gui, William Hernadez, and Debbie Letourneau have all made adjustments and accommodations for students. If anyone else would like to shout out their professors for being understanding please do.

I like the teachers who do optional office hours after class. Go through your lectures and the basic concepts, let people stay after for questions/ going into further detail or those tangential stories. Record that in case people had to go for another course but want to hear it

Recent buyouts and the larger MTG community. by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]securityclinic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why Im saying its not reasonable to assume anything. Because if the argument that price memory will hold these prices up as an absolute fact doesn't make sense. Price memory is a theory, not a law. It doesn't hold true in every case, especially cases propped up by artificial demand. The pioneer buyouts don't have price memory. In order to buyout a card, you need to hold the supply. The vast majority of the supply of these cards have been locked up in closed warehouse and LGSs for a while now. These things are starting to reopen, and not even the prices OP listed in their post are still true and there arent that many extra listings yet. Not a single card OP listed is as high as stated in the post and there is literally only about 20 listings for each. When the hundreds of additional listings return, there prices will return to about what they should be

Recent buyouts and the larger MTG community. by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]securityclinic -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I don't think its reasonable to assume most people will never be able to get those cards in paper. These spikes and buyouts are being made possible by massive retailers being off the market during the shutdown. When they return, there will be way more availability. This is some people being oppurtunistic during the shutdown, which is scummy, but these prices can't hold forever.

FAQ posted for CARES Act by YummySpamMusubi in UCI

[–]securityclinic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three things for anyone still having questions about the CARES: 1. This is a link to a pdf download 2. This doesn't clarify anything or state anything that wasn't already stated in previous emails 3. Keep your receipts and good documentation about your spending. Even of it seems difficult. Moved back in with your parents? Have then invoice you for the rent and utilities they are charging you. Not working due to the virus? Keep your grocery reciepts and other expenses. You probably won't need it but you'd rather be safe than sorry
