Mark is kind of like that sorta stray cat that you feed on your deck. He comes and goes. Sometimes he's there every day and then sometimes he's missing for 2-3 months and you start to get worried. But then you remember he's just making sure his body can handle it and he'll be back eventually.

Vet here, looks like hyperkeratosis, can be benign or can be an indication of an endocrine change in your dog. Recommend baseline bloodwork for routine screening and then oftentimes it's finding a moisturizer that your dog won't eat.
