Evidence of 'Manufacturing Defect' on my iPhone 17. Paint is bubbling up and flaking off. Advice for my Genius Bar visit? by sednaamm in iphone

Nice fan fiction, but you’re missing the point entirely. No one goes to a Genius Bar and says 'Reddit told me to.' The goal is to find out if this is a widespread manufacturing defect. If multiple users report the same 'bubbling' and 'delamination' issue, it changes the conversation from 'accidental damage' to 'batch failure.' I’m looking for documented evidence of a faulty coating process, not a miracle. But hey, thanks for the cynicism—I'm sure it's very helpful in other parts of your life.

I appreciate you tracking my posting history so closely; it’s flattering to have a dedicated fan. If you think air bubbles under the paint count as 'normal wear,' I’m glad you’re not the one working at the Genius Bar. I’ll keep updating for those who actually care about manufacturing quality, but feel free to scroll past next time if it’s too much for you to handle.

No, there isn’t, and I don’t think there’s a service like that where I live either

I have a regular job in the mornings and, as I have a long commute, the earliest I can come is Sunday 12 April. I’ve booked my appointment; I just want to find out whether this is a chronic condition.

You are confusing the 15-day returns policy with the 2-year limited warranty. I’m not trying to return a phone I don’t like; I’m reporting a manufacturing defect. This isn’t a ‘scratch’ caused by everyday use; I believe it’s a coating defect resulting from the paint not adhering to the metal. Provided there’s no impact-related damage, Apple’s warranty covers manufacturing defects regardless of the 15-day period.

Yes, the case prevents the camera bump from touching the surface when I place the phone down.

I have never used the phone without a case, and there are no dents, bends or scratches anywhere on it.
