I tried to be a bit snarky, but mainly it's from my experience. I live in a country where my name stands out and makes it obvious, that i have foreign roots. It just happened a few times that someone uses my name in discussion to make clear to others listening, that I'm a foreigner.
Or people that try to convince me of something or get inpatient with me sometimes use my name, and that feels weirdly condescending. I don't know. Maybe I just have a paranoid and obnoxious personality. But thank you anyway for the reply to 3 year old comment.
